  • R.I.P. RHYSZ

  • That font that you use so often.....UBUNTU?

  • I've mirrored the original video on YouDoubled and have taken the liberty of copying the text from your description box (credited to you of course). I hope that's ok.

  • @conferencereport Of course, although the text should be credited to IntegralMath. :)

  • @DLandonCole I've included a ref back to IntegralMath in the desc box.

    Thanks.

  • if you think this level of censorship is bad, just wait until SOPA takes hold...

  • i watched it and it was very reasonable

  • This video implies there is a decision by YouTube to remove C0nc0rdance's video. If a video isn't flagged by someone I doubt YouTube staff will ever view it. Maybe the other video's mentioned in comparison were never flagged. I don't know of anyway to check which videos are flagged or otherwise. TheTruePooka makes an interesting point, but its speculation, do we KNOW YouTube removes popular videos if they can't make money (advertise)?

  • Fail , YT fail.

  • Was the tone of the video against circumcision? Or was it just a look at the processes? I think if it be the former the take down wasn't really anything to do with fears of 'indecency' but of religious politics.

  • @NativeAlternative it was neither, and that's the trouble with its being taken down: it makes it difficult to watch to evaluate on one's own what it is all about.

  • Weird part of youtube again..

  • Apart from the slightly negative tone taken suggesting that 'artistic' nudity was less valid that medical or scientific nudity I support this video entirely. Not that Google cares of course

  • @conferencereport I did not in anyway imply that artistic nudity is less valid than any other form. The air quotes were that two people simulating sex for a dance recital is considered artistic in a way that an oil painting used in C0nc0rdance's video isn't artistic - only as a form of reference. You will note that I said outright C0nc0rdance had, among other things, an artistic representation in his video; I was pointing out YT's inconsistency on what constitutes 'real' art.

  • @integralmath I think we're in complete agreement.

  • @conferencereport indeed. I could have perhaps used a device less ambiguous than the quotes, but I was in a hurry to get that up. But yeah, it's all silly.

  • This guy seems cool i'm gonna sub him not heard of him before now.

  • Ah, nice to see the Ubuntu font being used.

  • its typical of youtube. you never know whats safe and whats not. its always amazing how much hate speech and video, is allowed yet other harmless stuff is removed. youtube 'circumnavigates' common sense.

  • Very strange, I missed this one but have found his work nothing less than well produced honest and informative.

This to me speaks more about Youtube politics than Concordances integrity.

I will be watchig for further info on this.

  • What religion would be against bad press about circumcision???.

  • What are you going to do? Organize the community and start using a new video sharing site where this kind of bullshit doesn't happen!

  • STREISAND EFFECT ENGAGE!!!

  • I don't know what standards they use for taking something down, but if the standards are enforced inconsistently, it could be workload. He mentions here other videos that are more graphic and were not removed. Most likely the powers that be don't know about them. Seventeen hours of video are uploaded every minute so keeping on top of them all is impossible. If no one who stumbles upon the video sees reason to complain, nothing will happen.

  • @aperson22222 watch the videos I reference; they've all been flagged and reviewed by youtube. They each come with an age restriction and warning. The videos I used are in graphic, up close, personal and detailed. C0nc0rdance's video is less graphic than these, and possessed of quite a bit of scholarship. I have no clue why his video isn't at least as acceptable as the ones I link to.

  • From what I have seen YouTube isn't set up to review videos. They just take things down if there are complaints. I doubt the "reviewers" have a basic understanding of English let alone the education to review a video. This for better or worse is YouTube's business model.

  • Concordance doesn't revenue share. The video was getting close to 100,000 views.

  • @TheTruePooka Interesting fact. Do you have other info that could support this as a possible reason it was taken down? (Not sarcasm).

  • @CATMAHAT No. Just that I've seem large channels do & say the exact same things smaller channels do and the smaller channel gets punished for it.

I'm not saying similar, I'm saying mimicking what they do.

  • not exactly fair is it

  • Given how wacked out the anti-circumcision lobby is, would you have expected anything else?

  • @beechgrovejoe I know, right? They are almost as mental as the for-circumcision lobby.

  • @Sinnessa So what in video would have caused a pro-circumcision fanboy to object enough to flag it? The video's position seemed to be that while he disagreed with the practice, it's a complex issue and parents should have the right to decide. My reading was that because he slammed the anti-circumcision commenters, they really didn't like it. Every one of his complaints was against typical anti-circumcision arguments you hear again and again.

  • @beechgrovejoe Dunno. Ask the people who flagged it.

  • @Sinnessa Why they did it is not the question. Which group do you think was more likely to flag it IS the question and why.

  • @beechgrovejoe Let me just consult my magic 8 ball...

    'Reply hazy. Try again later.'

  • @Sinnessa So in other words, you haven't spent much time debating the issue with either the pro or anti sides of the question.

  • Google have near enough have made YT a place for stupid shitty music,ADVERTISING,and almost pro youtubers..its not the place i joined for fun years ago..im gonna switch to Twitvid !

  • Thank DLandon!

  • @C0nc0rdance My pleasure!

  • @DLandonCole not exactly the words one expects on a video about circumcision. Perhaps 'keep the tip'?

  • @integralmath I was worried I'd screwed up the editing... thought I'd cut off the end.

  • @DLandonCole I don't know about that. By my reckoning, it seems to have run a bit longer than when I gave birth to it. Must be the extra gravity from the stellar syzygy of later this year having an unforeseen consequence or something.

  • @integralmath CUT THE END OFF. A VIDEO ABOUT CIRCUMCISION.

  • @DLandonCole well, since you used all caps I'm convinced! *genuflects*

  • So did someone flag it down or report it?

  • Can someone give me a shortened run-down of what the video was about? A 'circumcised' version if you will...

  • @DimmedDiamond basically circumcision had very little actual benifit to the penis. there are some but not to such an extent that it compensates for the actual health risks.
