I suggest an 8800GT. I got one for 130$ on eBay. :) And if you SLI, it has been said to match the performance of a 9800GX2! Pretty good deal right there!

The step-up program lets you upgrade your card by paying the difference of your current card and a higher performing one that you want. If you buy new, you have 90 days to register at EVGA's website for the program. Look in their FAQ section for more info. Hope this helped!

Ya, I have a Gainward stock cooler stock clocks 8800GT (The basic 8800 GT), and it came in much better packaging than this.

Anyway overclocked it out of the box to 650/1650/925. Don't want to go all crazy, frying the card is NOT an option where I live :)
