I don't blame him, in his mid thirties and hasn't even fought a ranked guy, his mma career started to late and there will always be a place in film for guys that can do quality kung fu for film.
@SupaFlyBoyZz699 Yeah, he's getting pretty old for fighting, plus he's never fought anyone. Most of the guys he fought except shamrock and smith were blown up 170ers and some of them were guys he'd already ko'ed multiple times in sanshou, plus he is obviously clueless on the ground, it looked like he had never been in top position before. He needs handpicked b level fighters to excel.
nah bro i dont think he worrying bout his ground game, even though improve it always a good thing, but keep them kick coming that wat pplz pay to see him do...its hard to take him down due to his style its like machida...beside man i dont want to rush the hell in there to take him down n eat a kick ouch
@SupaFlyBoyZz699 I won't argue with that, it was pretty obvious that he isn't worrying about his groundgame. he looked worse than some of the guys in our beginners grappling class, completely clueless. His future is making money on film and a few 'superfights' while ppl still want to see him fight.
first he have to figh and win more fights, that when pplz want him to do movies, if he keep losing movie dont want him, so its a huge connection between those 2
@SupaFlyBoyZz699 I see your point and agree to an extent but I don't think his stock dropped much from that loss because he was so dominant before he gassed. If he fights again it will probably be handpicked but as long as he doesn't lose several in a row he will still be wanted for movies. Guys than can do qaulity traditional maritial arts are rare. Most fighters don't even know what a spinning hook kick is, let alone how to throw one.
@jsg103 you make very valid points about Cung's ground game and what not, but look at his sanshou record, he's 35-0, now granted, sanshou doesn't involve ground game like MMA does now, cung came into MMA debuting against one of MMA's legends, and dominated him, up until then, people hadn't even seen kicks like that, thrown like they were. when it comes to his ground game he needn't work on it as much as you're stressing, his strength is on his feet, and that's what he should keep working on.
dude just the movies sometime give him more money so he choose movie, and maybe he enjoy filming better, and he was 6-0 til he beated the crap out of smith but got knock out at end since smith got lucky swing.
brothers, Cung Le is in tons of flicks this year alone (Fighting, Tekken, Pandorum, another kung fu flick ) he's getting paid butt loads man... Props to Cung for getting the Vietnamese role in Pandorum, it was originally meant to be a Japanese guy... Represent!
Do you have a source on his paydays? As a business owner with an education in business management, i'm not familiar with what "butt loads" translates to in a tangible amount?
