I can't even make out the limbs of most of the creatures, because DETAILS, DETAILS EVERYWHERE. Battles are retarded, the system is retarded, and it looks like a gross bastard child of Heroes 4 and Disciples 1 that got hit by the Final Fantasy train that had pegasus wings and pink steam. Even the story doesn't make sense (remember Gallean saying that "this is just the beginning"? I thought that meant an imminent rampage but it seems he decided to wait 200 years.) Well fuck this shit.

Seriously, I've played Disciples 2 (with all the expansions) and Disciples 3 (demo only, which saddens me that I didn't buy the whole game). To tell you the truth, the third Disciples aren't that bad (yet it's a failure not to implement Multi).
Yes Disciple 3 has better graphic, yes soundtrack is nice, yes they put much effort in general, yes Disciples 3 can't be same as Disciples 2 only with new story and yet game isn't one 10th of what Disciples 2 is, why?
What made Disciples 2 complete success? It's uniqueness. Breathtaking art, simple and challenging combat, 2D style that not many game can pass with and overall atmosphere with all that combined. No one asked for D3 to be replica of D2. But when you have countless fans and gamers praising you're game for that unique style wouldn't be smart to keep in mind that when making a sequel? Make it better yes, but not make it a new game that caries only Disciples title as legacy.

I liked this game, especially the RPG/story line, and I'm pleased with all the changes, since it's more developed / there are more variables.
I played too much Heroes 2/3/4 and Disciples 1/2+addons... and really wanted something new.
Oh, and heroes 5 is too uptight at gameplay and too damn anime! :|
i shall agree in everything except the fact that HOMM series is shitty. At least they were pretty innovative about turn based strategy games back then. Also it's all about the developers. 3DO was a god then, then Ubisoft comes and brings the shitstorm. It happens in many titles, nowadays games lack the passion they carry from their developers, rendering them shallow.
Why did they they fuck this one up. It so bad. I was so happy after playing 1 and 2 and now 3 makes me so angry. I could forgive them for dropping undead and dwarfs. The combat is so awful. The story line is so bad. The only thing the game gots going is the new heroe leveling system. Which was a nice idea but what was so wrong with leaving the good parts of the game alone and just upgrade the graphics and heroes.
I like disciples 3 i mean it just gives the game abit more depth yeah it sucks that the gothicness is gone but i like it and i'm a diehard disciples fan i played disciples I scared lands,Disciples II Dark Prophecy and Rise of the Elves and i bought Disciples III Renaissance i like it but i just dislike the fact that Undead Hordes aren't playable they are my fave race! but other than that i think it's a good game with nice features
I was dissapointed to hear how buggy d3 became. I mean they did have as you said 6 years? But the thing that probably upset me the most was the fact that it released as such a broken game that when you equip a helm or something the head disappears entirely. (( believe IGN made that statement in a review ))
IGN also really criticized the botched AI making some missions in the early game next to unplayable. I will pretend this game never came out and go back to dark prophecy.
HOMM fan & Disciples 1/2 fan but the 3rd one is just so alien, it doesn't feel the same at all, like for example have you seen how many hp does a lvl2 elven archer have ? it basically rivals those of melee warriors from the Empire. & in this game it's much more easyer to retreat, while with the old system everyone in your squad got at least 1 hit on the retreating character (if only 1 remained) & had a chance to kill them , but now you're mostly left with finishing them with spells
Bravo...genial facut...no Mountain Clans and no Undead Hordes...how can a real Disciples fan could enjoy Disciples 3 ?is like turning Heroes of might and magic 3 into Heroes of might and magic 1,the only difference is the grafic...let's just hope the expansion is coming soon..

@toxicitzi I enjoyed Doom 1 & 2 a lot. It was my first fps like 7-8 years ago. Back than... quake / doom and duke nukem were the best! As you can see I don't bitch about the quality.

Multiplayer will come in addone. I'm betatesting it and it's really good! Also I heared that there will be 2 types of multiplayer: regular and battle arena.
While this is sadly true and hilarious, I think the game has potential; even with the battle system changed, it doesn't really feel like you're playing heroes, but neither does it feel like disciples. Its hard not to be prejudiced when the first two games were so epic, but there's some positive innovation here despite the fact that it has this incomplete vibe to it. I'm gonna give it some time and hope for the best :D
He is so damn right. Disciples 1 was the best game i played since more then 10 years! I were really sad about what disciples 3 changed: no multiplayer, only 3 races and the combat system. This isn'nt a "Disciples Game"! Rest In Peace, good old Disciples series. :-(
It will have multiplayer, they are betatesting it right now on the russian version only, will probably come later as a patch. I think it's a really cool game, I haven't played the old ones but I love the homm-games and this is similar so...
i've been following the game for 11 years. i'm frustrated as well. First of all, Strategy First gave it up I think because they went bankrupt and just didn't feel they could do it justice any longer. Secondly, I'm shocked they didn't implement multiplayer. I assumed that was the second most important goal with the Disciples revamp. That would've ensured its popularity on some level. But now... this may likely be the last Disciples ever.

This video is SOOOO true, mainly because of comment on 3D. WTF is up with 3D? They stamp it everywhere. Game system also sucks. Instead of renewing models, giving us new models, adding some new music tracks, an option to make bigger armies they give us copy of heroes...

Constructive criticism on key aspects of the game (lack of multiplayer for example) is one, bitching about your personal preferences (lack of MC and Undead Hordes) is another thing. As for listening to costumers, take look no further than WOW where literally blizzard takes it up the ass from it's costumers: furries want a race for themselves, they get worgens, paladins are awesome, they become overpowered, the horde wants paladins now they can be paladins, etc.
Guys give them a break! Did you see how AMAZING D3 looks compared to Kings Bounty or Heroes 5? Those 2 games look like for children.
D3 probably cost too much to make and that's why they can't pay for the 2 other races and multiplayer. Play it if it's a good game, and if you support them they will add other features!

for campaigning they should ve done the J-rpg thing , rather then you lose all your units and have retrain them with XP every fucken time . Camera is annoying , battlefields are bland as fuck . It would be a good game if it were to come out 3 years ago

I truly do hope this game is a worthy successor. I agree with some of the things said here but however disagree with others. As far as no multiplayer... its really not that big of a deal as the disciples games have had multiplayer before with varying degrees of success. The single player is what stuck for most i believe. Also In regards to the hand drawn style and such.. I think that its nice they are trying to do something new. Part of the reason we love disciples so much is that its sort of...
@Linkman247 a diamond in the rough. The only people who really played disciples were the fans that have been loyal to the series.. which is why its a cult series. I think to appeal to more people to generate more income to do more things they need to appeal to a larger audience. The new features I look forward to are the weapon change on your hero in particular. I will wait to pass any negative judgement until I can actually play it.
If you are single player person like me then you should worry more about content, cause there only 3 races :P sadly but true. Less race mean the game is shorter :(
But what really disturbing and disappoint me is only 3 Races, compare to the previous D2, 1 race is missing here. Ya ya they will release it in expansion to rip off more money, I know, but I want my damn 4 races NOW, not 3 and 1 more later, cause it feel like they rip you off right at 1 purchase.

Wait...did disciples 2 have multiplayer? How the hell can you play a TBS in multiplayer? I mean a single turn (per player) can take ages so it's not a valid gameplay ideea. Heroes 5 tried it and that ended well (sarcasm). Also I played the russian version and it's not abominable like you make it sound, it's actually a good game (true it has a different atmosphere but you can adapt) but in this case fanrage is gonna kill the Disciples series not poor production.

While this is sadly true and hilarious, I think the game has potential; even with the battle system changed, it doesn't really feel like you're playing heroes, but neither does it feel like disciples. Its hard not to be prejudiced when the first two games were so epic, but there's some positive innovation here despite the fact that it has this incomplete vibe to it. I'm gonna give it some time and hope for the best :D

i've been following the game for 11 years. i'm frustrated as well. First of all, Strategy First gave it up I think because they went bankrupt and just didn't feel they could do it justice any longer. Secondly, I'm shocked they didn't implement multiplayer. I assumed that was the second most important goal with the Disciples revamp. That would've ensured its popularity on some level. But now... this may likely be the last Disciples ever.

This video is SOOOO true, mainly because of comment on 3D. WTF is up with 3D? They stamp it everywhere. Game system also sucks. Instead of renewing models, giving us new models, adding some new music tracks, an option to make bigger armies they give us copy of heroes...

Constructive criticism on key aspects of the game (lack of multiplayer for example) is one, bitching about your personal preferences (lack of MC and Undead Hordes) is another thing. As for listening to costumers, take look no further than WOW where literally blizzard takes it up the ass from it's costumers: furries want a race for themselves, they get worgens, paladins are awesome, they become overpowered, the horde wants paladins now they can be paladins, etc.

D3 probably cost too much to make and that's why they can't pay for the 2 other races and multiplayer. Play it if it's a good game, and if you support them they will add other features!

I truly do hope this game is a worthy successor. I agree with some of the things said here but however disagree with others. As far as no multiplayer... its really not that big of a deal as the disciples games have had multiplayer before with varying degrees of success. The single player is what stuck for most i believe. Also In regards to the hand drawn style and such.. I think that its nice they are trying to do something new. Part of the reason we love disciples so much is that its sort of...

I think to appeal to more people to generate more income to do more things they need to appeal to a larger audience. The new features I look forward to are the weapon change on your hero in particular. I will wait to pass any negative judgement until I can actually play it.

In my opinion, D3 in 3d gameplay create more strategy(although same to homm) compare to 2d. Great graphic.Upgrading unit is very interesting. Good story line.. This time equipment change can be seen on character. Hope to see more new character, equipment, item, rune etc in future....im fan of this series starting D2

Wait...did disciples 2 have multiplayer? How the hell can you play a TBS in multiplayer? I mean a single turn (per player) can take ages so it's not a valid gameplay ideea. Heroes 5 tried it and that ended well (sarcasm). Also I played the russian version and it's not abominable like you make it sound, it's actually a good game (true it has a different atmosphere but you can adapt) but in this case fanrage is gonna kill the Disciples series not poor production.
