Even if Kim Jong Un leans toward that sort of change to permit any sort of market, the military oligarchs would try to halt it because that is threatening to their political power and status, as the economic growth of resources and social changes could result in a revolution.
God damn that 'Great Leader'... an embarrasment to the Korean people if ever there was one!!!! U hear me U nit wit scumbags; counterfeits; retardations of Ur nation!?! I bet those cameramen were all smileing menaceingly at those poor sheeple... what a crock of shit :()
Now let's take the Ron Paul approach; butt out and let other nations closest deal with the problem. Let us (U.S.) work on protecting OUR OWN borders instead of other Nations' borders!
The U.S lost the Korean war due to Moa invading when the U.S had the war won. It was a shock to the U.S. So China controls N. Korea and the U.S Whores with China.
Those people really are crying because they're brainwashed almost since birth about how their ruler is so wonderful and he provides all their needs. They put him on a high pedestal and practically worship him because they don't know any better. Communication and inflow of information from outside the country is suffocated so they don't get to listen to any different views.
North Korea is a truly tragic example of what a despotic government can do to its people. As harsh as it sounds, we should stop all aid and communications with that government. They should stew in their own juices.
We cannot save the world from itself.
If they attack South Korea, their military forces and military infrastructure should be nuked.
Kim Jong Un's likely destiny is a firing squad. No way this regime will last another 50 years and no way that the ruler will survive the wrath of his people once it finally ends.
@vincentyeo88 i hope KIMs son will lead its people better. mr kim who is worser then HITLER dies and i feel like i won the lottery. THERE IS NO PLACE ON EARTH FOR someone who is like HITLER
im so happy this man has died, now the million starving childrens in N.Korea have more chance of surviving and the poor 3,000,000 million souls that has died can now rest in peace
Worst case scenario: Coup de tat by the military either necessitates a military intervention by ROK, PLA, and american forces (or the new leadership launches an invasion of the South).
Best case scenario: Kim Jong Un has taken a few economics classes while studying in Switzerland and allows at least some semblance of private markets to exist in North Korea.
Austrian economics will help in the short run in maximizing the possible output per capita of the North Korean economy, but he might want to study economics in Chicago or Princeton if he wants to deal with the problems that always arise when dealing with currency-based economies.

If we ended the food and oil aid we send to North Korea, would that lead to an end of their totalitarian government?
