I am a metal fan and guitarist, but I am not going to say that rap sucks. Most popular rap does suck, but there is a ton of good rap out there. NWA, Eminem, Dr. Dre, Eazy E, Ice Cube, Tupac, Biggie, 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg. They all have some really good songs.

To me, personally, the tapping is more impressive than the sweeps, the stamina it takes to tap that precise and fast for that amount of time, not to mention while switching strings is incredibly impressive if finger tapping, and even when tapping with a pick would still be impressive. But then again, I did spend much more time learning how to sweep than tap, so that may just be that... Either way props to you.

People just keep hating on Technical Death Metal because it supposably "has no passion or melody" which is bullshit. This is not random shredding, this is music that is very difficult to write, compose, and play. This is music that challenges the average musicians player's skill and mind, and is in my opinion, probably the coolest type of music out there. As with any thing on this planet, it is not for everyone, but instead of talking shit on Tech Death, try and find the positive aspects in it.
