There's a reason they have a different style, same reason they have a different name, because they are not the old Sublime, regardless of how good Sublime was, this is a different project. Asking Eric and Bud to quit playing music cuz Brad died would definetly have been something Brad wouldn't have approved of, so go listen to Sublime if Sublime with Rome offends you so much
this is the biggest letdown of an album i've ever downloaded. rome ramirez is a terrible songwriter and lyricist. this music is less than "oh itll work". that's like fuckin long beach shortbus for me (actually they werent that bad, but you get it). this is just terrible. the songs get old after the first listen, and they seem to think they're a pop group now. even paper cuts and my world were terrible. it doesnt have that same feel that sublime had, it sounds like a watered down dirty heads

The sublime music is amazing, I can still tell it's sublime with the instruments, but I do miss the grit Rome is missing, even though he does a good job.

im not a fan of rome when he sings brads songs but i have to admit im likin the new album. but on the songs that i dont like its because of rome, not because he's bad but because the singing sounds kind of like pop. all they should do now change the name and it would be fine. oh and whats up with the dub step shit on safe and sound? that i dont like because they are just trying to do whats in not what they like.

I dig it...this is the band Pepper wishes they could be and been all along, and I dig Pepper too. It's fucking Bud and Eric and anyone who is in the least bit familiar with Sublime's (and Bradley's) reggae/ska/rocksteady/dub roots would know that it's ALL in the drum and bass...Rome is cool enough on his own, coupled with Bud and Eric it's a nice fresh sound.

Amen. It's been over a decade since Sublime has been together. Bradly =/= Sublime. Bud and Eric where there as well and obviously are still talented musicians. The Beatles said it best, "Let it Be". If someone can't get down with then you were never a Sublime fan.
It may be bud and eric, and at face value isnt bad, but it just reminds me of all the copy cat bands that tainted the skunk sound. its just hard to enjoy.
The only issue I have with this album is a majority of the songs are about love. I am in no way saying they are not good songs, there is just no variety.

Honestly...the best song that it sounds like that is comming off this album..is dynamite. Everything else kind of sounds the same. No dub jams. romes voice doesnt fit punk (even tho i think hes a good singer) the song wit wiz is boring. sounds like some shit you hear in the background while playing beer pong. Murdera is alright. I hope they put out another album after this...and have it sound less poppy. I hope rome gets serious. hes got the potential.

I went into this album totally pumped. Then I hear some of it and, despite my trying to stay positive, my thick skin of cynicism has affected my anticipation deeply. Despite that, I'm confident that Rome will cut that skin away with his piercing vocals. I hope I'm right.

I really love this. Sure, they wont be exactly as they were with brad like 15 god damn years ago. I think rome is a really good choice for their new lead, and he's talented and even sounds like brad a little. I've heard full versions of Panic, Can You Feel It?, and Murdera, and they are pretty damn good compared to the songs the Long Beach Shortbus and All-Stars put out. Rome has talent, and even though he is not Brad, at least he has a decent voice, and wrote at least a few good songs on this album...Panic is such a good song, as is Can You Feel it?

@BondsTakesRoids- How can you say "Bradley was everything to and for that band?" YES Bradley gave it's soul especially when performing songs he wrote, but you can't discount Bud and Eric that much. Sublime for a large part covered songs (Boss DJ, Big Salty Tears, Guava Jelly, etc...) and what you have here is a full album of original stuff.... Yes Rome lacks some passion in his voice but you can tell he is no Bradley..
you know i aint a huge fan of the fact that they replaced brad but i can say rome has the same soul sound of brad, this is one album i will buy, these guys are tryin to keep the memory alive and i respect the face that true sublime fans will find this album good no matter how much they hate the fact that it aint brad behind the mic, it still has the soul of the original....

do not misunderstand me, this is not a bad album but it has nothing to do with the heritage of Sublime.
only Panic reminds me a little bit of Sublime style all the other stuff is more Rome than Sublime.

i'm glad sublime is keeping the new music going, rome is definatly talented and he can't replace brad, brad was just incredible but the songs aren't bad, definatly a little pop produced which sucks, but there are some good songs on here, murdera, dynamite, panic, only and my world aren't bad, take or leave it is catchy, almost all the songs are catchy, just really generic and same sounding. But i'm happy there's new music to listen to

why do people keep on saying that this is something new???..this is clearly a rip from previous sublime stuff..this has bits and pieces that totally mirror the original product.."safe and sound" sounds like a parody of "April 29, 1992" and "my world" sounds a little like "Date Rape"...i think this is decent, but what bothers me the most is that they're trying to ride the wave using the "Sublime" moniker as a means for commercial success because alot of people are accustomed to the name "Sublime"

I dig it...this is the band Pepper wishes they could be and been all along, and I dig Pepper too. It's fucking Bud and Eric and anyone who is in the least bit familiar with Sublime's (and Bradley's) reggae/ska/rocksteady/dub roots would know that it's ALL in the drum and bass...Rome is cool enough on his own, coupled with Bud and Eric it's a nice fresh sound.

Honestly...the best song that it sounds like that is comming off this album..is dynamite. Everything else kind of sounds the same. No dub jams. romes voice doesnt fit punk (even tho i think hes a good singer) the song wit wiz is boring. sounds like some shit you hear in the background while playing beer pong. Murdera is alright. I hope they put out another album after this...and have it sound less poppy. I hope rome gets serious. hes got the potential.

I went into this album totally pumped. Then I hear some of it and, despite my trying to stay positive, my thick skin of cynicism has affected my anticipation deeply. Despite that, I'm confident that Rome will cut that skin away with his piercing vocals. I hope I'm right.

I really love this. Sure, they wont be exactly as they were with brad like 15 god damn years ago. I think rome is a really good choice for their new lead, and he's talented and even sounds like brad a little. Just shut the fuck up, and be happy that sublime is still going on, playing shows, and still coming up with new things. Its good. Nah, its great. And this all sounds amazing. I've heard full versions of Panic, Can You Feel It?, and Murdera, and they are pretty damn good compared to the songs the Long Beach Shortbus and All-Stars put out. Rome has talent, and even though he is not Brad, at least he has a decent voice, and wrote at least a few good songs on this album...Panic is such a good song, as is Can You Feel it?

@BondsTakesRoids- How can you say "Bradley was everything to and for that band?" YES Bradley gave it's soul especially when performing songs he wrote, but you can't discount Bud and Eric that much. Sublime for a large part covered songs (Boss DJ, Big Salty Tears, Guava Jelly, etc...) and what you have here is a full album of original stuff.... Yes Rome lacks some passion in his voice but you can tell he is no Bradley..
