Is this another "real" version or just the normal version being played faster? I found this video interesting because I've always thought that the "normal" one was somewhat weirdly slow, and her voice is weirdly deeper, as if it was being played in slow motion. In this version her voice sounds a bit more like herself in other songs, which contrast a bit with the normal "Venus". Intriguing.

Mariska Veres (* 1. Oktober 1947 in Den Haag; † 2. Dezember 2006 ebenda) war eine niederländische Sängerin.

Shocking Blue trennte sich 1974, bis zur Wiedervereinigung der Band 1984 trat Veres solo auf. Ab 1993 trat sie auch mit dem Shocking Jazz Quintet auf.

2006 starb sie an den Folgen eines Krebsleidens.

One rare recording, as Mariska is wearing a miniskirt here. She obviously does not feel well in it, as if she tried to hide her legs all the time, keeping in the background.

In fact Mariska never liked the sexy image she gave and was a shy, inhibited woman, however beautiful.

You will always see her in trousers, or 3/4 trousers and boots, so it seems she was not happy about the shape of her legs, which were, in fact, fairly short.
