  • Nice vid! I onw à 67' Cougar to.

  • #20 is definitely a Datsun 510 having raced one myself for many years. Believe it or not, that little car is packing either a 1600 cc or 1800 cc four cylinder engine if period correct! This car's strength was great handling due to it's fully independent suspension. That is why it did so well when the track was wet but started to fall back as the track dried out and the V8's could finally put more of their their power down. Brings back alot of memories!

  • Ese auto no dobla ni frena, sólo acelera, pero cómo acelera!

  • For 2010, see Historic Trans Am racing at the Sonoma Reunion (nee Wine Country Classic) June 4-6, The Monterey Pre-Reunion (August 7-8) , the Monterey Motorsports Reunion (nee Monterey Historics (August 12-15) and the Coronado Speed festival September 24-26 1 second ago

  • Loved the video, thanks for the upload ;-)

    BTW, nice driving!

  • that sound is like a symphony!! so beautiful it makes my eyes water! :D that must have been a phenominal drive.. in the rain with musclecars!!!

  • I'm probly wrong but, that #20 looks like a Datsun 510.

  • pretty sure you are right!

  • Wow what a great video, you were on top of your game I really like how you pushed the cougar. Trans am is so cool I just wish the grand am KONI challenge was as popular as trans am was back in the day. Anyways this is such a cool video I love the Mercury Cougar, it's really cool to see you racing it. Hey BTW what kind of car was # 20?

  • Are there any displacement restriction on engines? Looks like a lot of fun.

  • Trans Am V-8 cars were limited to 5.0 Liters maximum, or as homolgated. The Cougar was homologated with a 289 CI engine

  • @hombnnncsts i think the limit is a 302

  • awesome!!!

  • Hey do you know when the next big event is for the trans am cars so I can come see these in person?

  • The next event is the Coronado Speed Festival at Naval Air Station North Island Coronado, San Diego on Sept 25-27, 2009. This is our last event of the year.

  • The Falcon also ran in the Trans Am Class. There is in-car video posted from that car too.

  • oh ok i was looking at the pics of the cars and didnt see it but its one of the not pictured

  • i saw the first race at infineon and the cougar came in 3rd i didnt see how the falcon did. also i couldnt stay for the 2nd race how did the cougar and the falcon do?

  • I'm pretty sure I saw that same cougar at infineon raceway this year but it could of been another yellow cougar. I love these kind of videos mainly because I've been restoring a 67 mercury cougar for the last 2 years with my dad I was 14 when we bought it. I'm 16 now and it's in the paint booth Right now and I love cougars and I will be submitting my restoration video pretty soon. So keep sumitting these videos much appreciated.

  • That is the same Cougar. One of my friends was racing it at Infineon. I was racing the black 1963 Falcon at that event

  • what group were you in?

  • racing the way it was meant to be

thanks for sharing, i always go to Fleet Week in San Diego to see the vintage races in Coronado

  • awesome onboard quality, especially the sound

  • Great racing!
