Love your cats! I have two Abys, who are very like yours, except that one is a chocolate, not a ruddy (which we call a Usual, in the UK). In our house, it is the blue who is the dominant cat, despite being slightly smaller (and cuddlier) than his cousin. Fabulous cats, Abyssinians - a source of endless entertainment.

I have a ruddy somali cat and he does the same thing with his mouth when he watches birds from the windowsill, I always thought it was so strange!

Great video, beautiful cats. I'd like to possibly have some abys but I don't know if they are right for me. I live alone in a spacious apartment but I work during the day. Can they be left alone? Should I get two? Thanks.

Abysinnians are very intelligent and very social in comparison with your average kittens. We first thought that getting one would be OK, but after three months we got him a little brother.

It could have worked out with him alone, but he is so much happier with a friend with whom he can do everything. So yes I'd recommend that you get two. Having two is not more work, but less, because they stimulate eachother.

Abys are the most active of the cat breeds. It's like having 10 cats packed inside 1 body. They can get very destructive if bored. I'm home with my Aby all day and I have other cats and he still gets bored and destructive at certain times. I would only get this breed if you have a lot of time and energy to devote to them. Lots of couch potato kitty types would not mind being home alone all day. I still think even they prefer the company of a 2nd cat to groom, chase and play with. My 2 cents. :-)
