  • wow i really love this version - the harmonies are absolutely great! recently robert pollard and kim deal of the pixies did a cover that was much closer to this version and it was also very great - very lo-fi too. I still prefer roy orbison's version though. Just so hauntingly right on the money. also i'm not to see people referencing nazareth - those assholes ruin this song since when i think of it in my mind sometimes that nazareth jerk pops into it with his stadium rock vocals and ruins it

  • I'd forgotten just how good these guys really were! Harmonies this good, only come from singers that are related to each other. Another example is the the Gibb brothers (Bee Gees). I don't know why this is, but it sure seems to be true.

  • @tripleJ1955

    you forgot the beach boys!

  • @KIDAmnesiacBends I actually thought about the Beach Boys, but left them out. Dennis Wilson didn't sing and when Carl Wilson wasn't singing lead he'd be doing back vocals. The Beach Boys version of Love Hurts is done duet style, but not by the Wilson brothers, it was Brian Wilson and Mike Love on this one.

  • @tripleJ1955

yea your right...me and my brother do really good harmonies together too, i definetly agree that brothers sound better together

  • i dont have to kill anyone for dislikes :)

  • didnt know about this version, that sounds great, thx for uploading this

  • SIMPLY WUNNERFUL!

  • They are angels!

  • Perfection - then and now.

  • Perfection - then and now.

  • nazareths version is way better

  • Muy lindas estas voces. Son voces dulces y juveniles. Gracias por existiren, Everly Brothers.

  • @008devlin Sure, you are 28 years old and were not even planned in the 50s!

  • i don't care what anybody says, this is the best version hands down.

  • @jstinnett75 everlybrothers did the BEST covers i think in my personal opinion, anyone else??

  • @WWFstunna13 i totally agree with you.

  • @jstinnett75 happy to see someone agreeing with me for the first time, in my teen life:) thanks bro. -Nick LoPiccolo (Low-Pick-a-low)

  • @jstinnett75 First time I've heard them on this. Still like ROY ORBISON. He's got the Orchestra & that crying voice. Hard to keep from crying!

  • I hated this kind of music when i was a kid and my mum used to play it ( LP ) Now i'm totally IN LOVE with it!

  • Absolutely no one sings this beautiful love song the way Don and Phil do. My personal favorite by these two legends.

  • Nice to listen to the original version for a change!

  • They had a lot of good songs, but I particularly liked this one. They do a beautiful job on this. Thank you for this post.

  • Wonderful song, no matter WHO does it. Ya just can ruin a great masterpiece written by Roy Orbison!

  • @TheLogcrawler actually "composed by Boudleaux Bryant" and "first recorded by The Everly Brothers" ~says Wikipedia

it is a great song tho, agreed.

  • Lind@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

  • you make it sound like a first love gone wrong , painfully wrong.

  • You do this song the best boys, the right amount of innocence and experience the lyric requires, love it!

  • I love the everly brothers but this isn't a great version of this song. check out Gram Parsons doing it with Emmylou Harris.

  • la musica antigua es fantastica

  • Beautiful song sung with beautiful harmony by Don and Phil!! Love this original version!! Thank you for posting. 5*****

  • wtf is that fagget BillG37 talking about the original is always the master piece of everything the original is always the best cause with out this song nazareht would never make a cover of this song so fuck u fagget

  • I like the Everly Brothers, but come on - this version isn't even close to the power & passion of the Nazareth version. Nazareth made it their own & captured the whole mood of the song. It's one of those rare times where the remake is better than the original, this time BY FAR!!!

  • @BillG37 Then you are forgetting the definitive version by Gram Parsons & Emmylou Harris.

  • @yt6004gm Boudleaux wrote this for the Everlys. The Parsons, Harris version is great! But it was written for these guys. It's my favorite version.

  • @lewis221990 LMFAO well he was born in 1936 and he died so a) none of ur fucking business b) take a wild guess u utter mong

  • This song killed me when I was a teenager and had a broken heart!

  • beautiful song with that peculiar sound of the 60 s

  • ..The Everly Bros made 2 versions of this written by " Roy Orbison " song.. this is the SLOW version...
