  • i didn't know they made ramona into a tvseries. i wish i would have saw it. and sarah polley played ramona . was this made in canada

  • @freeasabird12907 i think it was made in canada. look on the right side someone put up all the episodes :)

  • @freeasabird12907 Answer: Yes. The Ramona TV show was developed by the same people who created the PBS children's show Reading Rainbow. Ramona was a joint venture between PBS and the CBC. Ten 30 minute episodes were produced which span what was at the time the last three books in the Ramona series. The show aired in the US, primarily on Friday evenings at 5:30 PM Eastern on PBS, and was a mid season replacement for Degrassi Junior High in the US.

  • What's up with her hand???

  • @HamburgerJameson That was when she and Howie stained their skin and clothes with blue dye.

  • Wasn't this the inspiration to the hit movie "Ramona and Beezus"?

Selena Gomez was too old to have played Beezus in the movie in seeing the age difference of the two girls in this TV Series. Selena Gomez looked 10-12 years older than the girl who played Ramona in the movie.

  • @Jiltedin2007 The answer is yes and no. The movie Ramona and Beezus is primarily based on Ramona's World, the final book in the Ramona series.

The TV series took the sub plots from the books Ramona Quimby, Age 8 and

Ramona Forever, and turned them into the TV series.

Had the TV show started at the point the book series started, Ramona would have been 4 years old.

  • @dickclarkfan1

You're right...and "The Great Hair Argument", "Ramona's Bad Day" and "New Pajamas" are all storylines from the book Ramona And Her Mother :)

  • Lynda Mason Green looks like Jo on The Facts of Life.

  • My childhood!! I remember when this was aired here in the UK on Channel 4 in 1989-1990 when I was 8 1/2 and 9 1/2 years old!!! I loved this show!!!

  • There's an error on the street sign. One blade reads 'NE KLICKITAT ST' and the other reads 'NW 37TH AV'. Both should be NE, since it's located in the northeast part of town. ( My childhood home was not far from there)

  • @av3ed haha!

  • I used to get the videos from the library lol

  • I remember getting these from the library as well! It was a cute series. Thanks for posting!

  • Just looked up the show up on wikipedia after seeing this- apparently only 10 episodes were made but somehow i can remember this being on all the time between 1989-1990 in the UK?

i read all the books when i was smaller and loved them (not much the new movie though where they tried to cram all of the books in one movie)

  • OMG I used to watch this as a liitle kid after school ahhh good times.

  • You can tell a show is old when the theme is longer then 5 seconds.

  • wow I had totally forgotten about this!

  • omgg i used to watch this show all the time

  • I am a male but you know it is very refreshing to see an opening to a show that is about an eight year old girl

  • We used to watch this in one of my elementary classes as a reward for being good, lol

  • I can't believe that is Sarah Polley out of Dawn of the Dead & Splice, she is extremely hot as an adult. I remember this used to be on channel 4 every sunday morning in the late 80's early 90's, all I remember is that she splats an egg on her own head, haha, brings back memories of my childhood

  • when i have kids i'm gonna make them watch quality programmes like this, along with the rest of the 80's/90's cartoon. :-)

  • This seriously brought tears to my eyes. I wish I could go back 20 years ago to enjoy all my childhood tv shows. I would love to experience how I felt watching these shows back then. Nickeloden, Saturday Morning cartoons on CBS, ABC, NBC, PBS, shows like Ramona and Encloypedia Brown, and Bozo, this was my childhood! I feel so sorry for the kids today. They'll never know what great children's programming is.

  • @MusicandDancing4Ever totally agree.i wanted to cry watching this again......the 80's and 90's Rocked,sniff :-)

  • @MusicandDancing4Ever

    Just one word:

    dito

  • OMG. I thought no one would remember this show but me. I too was thinking back to my childhood, and this was one of the shows I watched. I couldn't believe how much I remembered the credits. TV was so much apart of my childhood. I didn't have a lot of friends. We had the best kid shows in the 80s/90s. These shows taught us, entertained us, and obviously left a special place in our hearts. Our shows didn't dumb us down like today's kid shows. You never know how good you had it, until you get old.

  • The janitor at my school called me Ramona Quimby every time I saw him, because I was the same age and looked just like her. "Hi Ramona!" I'd head down the halls. Magic.

  • I loved Ramona!! Then when I was 15 I went to Canada for the first time and fell in love with Canada! Xx

  • I can't believe i actually found this becusz i was thinking randomly back to my childhood & one of the shows that i used to actually watch was this one. i used to be obsessed with this show. I miss my childhood.

  • this romona is an insult to the book she looks so creepy and discusting i hate her but everyone else is good

  • i wish i was 10 again!

  • this was my favorite show ever when I was younger. I watched all the videos over and over

  • I sent email, you better help me out, theres nothing on torrents, mu, rs, warez, video google etc can't find anything more than a couple dead edonkey links and they dont connect cuz theres no sources

  • Comment removed

  • i emailed them they never got back to me my friend kerry was on this show i want a copy of the time ramona cracks the egg on her head.

  • @bowlbrawl Kerry Segal, who played Marsha?

  • I saw this opening before. It makes me wonder almost all the time: what if Ramona and her family were black?

  • GOD!! I remeber this show!! rememeber i was in love with this two girls ;) ;) have been looking for this show for years...couldnt remeber the name.. thanks alexis :)

  • Found a tape in my closet with my name scribbled on the lable about a week ago, and put it in to find it was full of Ramona!

HA! I loved it. Oh my my. A kid in my twenties. Thats all I can say.

    Three cheers for Ramona.

  • @showbizzell you got a way of transferring that to computer someway, my young fella fell in love with the movie and i told him about the show cuz i watched it on PBS from the states but I'm from canada and the old canadian shows like this are IMPOSSIBLE to find. Please let me know

  • omg i used to watch this all the time as a kid : P

  • Never read the books but loved the show on channel four back in the day.

And i wouldnt watch the new one with Selena Gomez if you paid me.

  • oh god, biggest nostalgic moment ever!

  • I used to watch this on PBS EVERY Sunday night. Thank you so much for the memories!!!!!!

  • oh wow ramona - i just remembered it cos there is now a ramona and beezus movie (in 2010 no joke - i just heard about it). Bless ramona i used to love this show when i was a kid!

  • me to i think i read every book

  • Why did the series only last less than a year? It ran from fall 1988 to January 1989. Also I read somewhere that all the episodes were produced in 1987 or maybe very early 88. Why did they wait so long to air these? Anyway I wish I could find tapes of these at our library.

  • Omfg this is going to make me cry. I remember watching the tv series. I loved the book as well. Holy crap, I feel so old

  • I lovee this show. ..like I still check out the tapes from the library. I don't think that new ramona is going to capture ramona, beezus or the other characters well at all.

  • I wish I could find more episodes for this, anyone know where to find more?

  • I was looking at the interview with the new actresses playing Ramona and Beesus and thought I'd look up the TV series from years ago. I had no idea the actress Sarah Polley that is in so many movies these days played Ramona from the TV series. This is amazing ! She has a wonderful career !

  • Wow....what a throwback to my childhood days. I was so young I think I had a crush on Beezus in this series.

  • Holy eff!

My mom just asked me if I had seen the movie yet... I responded with a big fat "umm, no..."

But I didn't even realize that this show (which I LOOOVED growing up) is based on the same books! Didn't have a clue.

Well, now I know... And I just might have to see the film... hmm...

PS- ADORE Sarah Polley to this day!

  • Oh my God nostalgia. In elementary school we'd read the books and when we had the time, the TV show. Thank you for uploading this.

  • I remember watching this on PBS and thought it was a very cute series! Funny they made a movie of it now. My only gripe about the new is movie why didn't they have the original series stars in cameos?! Thanks for the awesome memories.

  • @voyager202000 PBS FTW. Yeah a lot of people don't remember this series. A lot people also don't even know that the original Degrassi series which continues on teen nick today also aired on PBS.

  • i used to watch this show when i was little.

  • this show rocked, i grew up reading all the books including all the henry huggins ones

  • oh yeah i can't wait to see the movie!

  • i loved this tv show as a kid :-)

  • WOW! Thanks! I didn't think I'd ever find the opening to this! I used to watch this alot while it lasted of course. This is great, I really miss Ramona. This is what inspired me to read a little bit of one of the Ramona books when I was a kid. Thanks again.

  • Sarah Polley was the Perfect choice for Ramona. I loved this series when I was a child. It brings back great memories.

  • They made us watch this bullshit in 2nd grade...

  • @aberod11 LOL :D. u didnt like it?

  • i may be a guy but i had a huge crush on Sarah Polley growing up so i liked the series, but i wish someone would upload the one where she dreams of her parents getting a divorce, that one was my favorite

  • @bigkevcxza

Does anyone know where I can find the series online?

  • @sweetlife031 stagevu.com

  • @ParraChannel2

Okay...what do I type in to search for it when I get there?

  • @sweetlife031 type in Ramona, they might be there

    Thanks for posting!

  • @AllisonTheSNLGuru I used to read the books in school too. I read them in 3rd grade 13 years ago. (Yes I'm born in 89 not 92) My fave had to be "Ramona Quimby age 8." haha. I remember the chapter where she thought she had a hard boiled egg in her lunchbox at school and cracked it on her head and it turned out it was raw, and the one where she threw up in front of everybody. We also watched an ep. of this on VHS in class once. This was only on for a year, in 1988-1989.

  • @italianman1992 - I was born in 1982, and my favorite was "Ramona Quimby, Age 8" as well. I saw a few eps and I can remember which books they came from as well. I really want to see more of this series...why aren't there more episodes posted??? It's a shame!!!!

  • This reminds me of my childhood SO MUCH. Wow. I absolutely loved this show and the cast. I have some of the episodes on old VHS copies, but I am really hoping that when the movie comes out later this year, they'll consider re-releasing the TV show on DVD. I really miss watching it!

  • Damn. Am I the first person to view this? I used to watch this on PBS. Actually Ramona was on my Summer reading list when I was a little kid. I loved this show.
