this is among the greatest videos in youtube history... and the brilliant and extraordinarily important artist it features has a billion less views than a pantload like lady gaga.... justin beiber's jesus tatoo weeps for us all.......
why are you fuckin idiots always trying to classify his unearthly art?do you think he was trying to give any kind of meaning to his paintings?logics have absolutely nothing to do with this
I believe classification is something thats rooted deep inside a humanbeings nature. We need classfication because thats the way we perceive the "external world". So atleast for my part it's OK to classify if you really feel the need to. But I obviously think its irrelevant to discuss what kind of art he is doing. The question really is: "Does this appeal to you?". Yes it does.
such a brilliant artist .. this video left me speechless for while after seeing it ... but whats tragic is that it only has 30'000 views .people don't have appreciation for real art anymore .. I bet it woul've got a couple million views if it was some stupid rap music or some other nonsense some dare to call it art .. what has this world come to.
Z niesamowitych i przepięknych obrazów Beksińskiego wieje grozą. A jednak nie potrafię przestać ich oglądać. One po prostu mają w sobie to "COŚ". Nie wyobrażam sobie pobytu w Bieszczadach bez odwiedzenia muzeum w Sanoku. Każdy następny pobyt to szybsze bicie serca i coraz dłuższe wpatrywanie się w poszczególne dzieła.
Many years ago, when I was still a little kid, my father made me go to the exhibition of Beksiński. I didn't really understand what was happening on on those paintings, but ever since then I have a great respect for Beksiński and I love negative pictures, metaphors of death itself. I remember very well only two paintings. Now I am studying art and trying to become a true artist, not some cheap imposter, Zdzisław Beksiński is one of my greatest role-models.
Astounding! I can't believe that I've never heard of this man or seen his work before. Thank you so much for this video and bringing this amazing artist to my attention.
Also wanted to ask.. I've read somewhere that Beksinski was actually (despite a terrible past) quite light hearted and hoped that people who look at some of his gruesome creatures with a sense of humor.
Beautiful, enchanting, and brilliant work. It was a pity that such a profoundly talented man had to leave this world so quickly. This is dark surrealism at its best.
It really says something when someone's artwork only fits with epic music. This man was profoundly imaginative and creative. It's almost like he was channeling his artistic energy from a higher power.
Beksinski reminds us: we, humans, are mortal. Each of us will die in the end. Our bodies will decay and our minds will disappear forever. All stars will vanish. Finally, everything will END. Everything.
Or not?
And that is the question Beksinski's art poses.
It is not a new question, but still the most important one.
On 21 February 2005, Beksiński was found dead in his flat in Warsaw with 17 stab wounds on his body; two of the wounds were determined to have been fatal. Robert Kupiec (the teenage son of his long time caretaker), who later pleaded guilty, and a friend were arrested shortly after the crime. On 9 November 2006 Robert Kupiec was condemned to 25 years of prison, and his accomplice(..). Before his death, Beksiński refused a small loan to Robert Kupiec (few hundred złotys (..)).
I completely agree! Can you imagine the imagination? His mind was in touch with a higher spirit you can see that from his work-astounding! And he didn't have any art schooling from what I remember? I can't believe he was killed for $100 someone wanted from him-tragic
he was a genius, no doubt. only a handful of people in the whole world are blessed with the artistic vision that he had, wether it be for music, visual art, ect...it's sad to know that someone with such a rich imagination and power was taken from the world forcefully.
you're right-it is almost heartbreaking but the fact that he was able to show his art and let us glimpse at a little bit of the beauty of creation (even in the guise of destruction) is a blessing and reminds me there is something else out there and I am thankful for that-I think he was obsessed with creation-just a feeling-and that is something to hold on to-
thanks for your comments-I always love knowing someone out there feels the same way-
I would say this is personally my absolute favourite artist. He has exactly the same kind of imagination as myself, not to give myself any credit. I mean the one on 4:10, what if that was a real place... who build it? And what on earth is in there? What will you see if you enter? Its sooooo fucking amazing I almost past out the first time I saw it. !ncredible!!
I started to read your comment was in when this picture appeared in 4:10. I realized it was only when I took to see what is in 4:10 (translated by Globefish 1.2.1)
@CruzRuddock I have goosebumps due to your comment. Zdzislaw Beksinski's art is like an extraterrestrial creature way of understand sin and passion of humankind.
Beautiful composition. I've just ordered two book with his works in it. I first discovered Beksinski in 2005, just months before he was murdered. It seemed like such a loss to not have found him sooner, and such a loss for humanity to have lost him.
Very nice music also, what is the name of the piano piece before Gymnopedie No.X (can't remember which number), it's very beautiful.
These images are so maddening and disturbing, but they're overall brilliant. Along with the music (which I think is probably from Donnie Darko, from the movie theatre scene, correct me if I'm wrong.)
he started as child during the 2nd world war. he made some pictures by camera, of his (and mine too)town, which is Sanok, during german ocupation. Once, i found the photo of german tank moving in Sanok town centre, made by Zdzisław Beksiński. cruel view. After war, he completed masters degree in Cracow, then came back to Sanok, and started to design bodies of buses vehicles.unfortunately, it was comunism time, and project were to much "future". he left AUTOSAN factory, and started
My favorite artists, shame that he died. It really made me wonder what images this man saw when he closed his eyes
