Before anyone comments on my above comment, I am not condoning what is shown on the video. It is indeed distressing and should be stopped. All I am pointing out is that the video (to me anyway) gives the impression that we do not have problems, we do not have our own cases of abuse. Yet we do.

Perhaps we are more advanced than Turkey in regards to mental health care, lets not forget that 30 years ago we would be doing the same.

I feel the video is possibly unfairly biased.

You can't justify abuses by pointing the finger elsewhere (which you've not done) - nor can you accuse a report of bias because it stems from a tv station from a country whose government has also engaged in human rights abuses (which you have)

Regardless of where this institution is, to see many children tied up and restrained because they have a mental disability or challenging behaviour, is inhumane and against their basic human right.

The carers need a tea-break and respite too!

Nothing will change until carers are educated and qualified in this specialised field of care and the monies are allocated to this area.

I hope this inexactitude and misrepresentation regarding child care in Turkey will soon be amended. Legal action shall be taken against this Duchess and her companions for violating Turkish constitution and for abusing those children and their families by making them the centre of unwanted attention.
