It's obviously assault on the part of the shop keeper. The initial crime was a very minor destruction of property charge if you want to call it that. With self-defense you can use proportionate force to protect yourself. You have no legal right to kick an unconscious or downed individual who is not resisting or presenting any threat to you. The individual in the black coat had his hands up. He never initiated any act of violence and he was repeatedly assaulted.

It's obviously assault on the part of the shop keeper. The initial crime was a very minor destruction of property charge if you want to call it that. With self-defense you can use proportionate force to protect yourself. You have no legal right to kick an unconscious or downed individual who is not resisting or presenting any threat to you. The individual in the black coat had his hands up. He never initiated any act of violence and he was repeatedly assaulted.
