People should get a grip..Those from other countries may not understand the impact of the song and just find it a beautiful song. Thailand or Chinese or Americans kids singing this lovely ballad do not have political motives. So please clap your hands for these young children
OK - I am sorry for being dismissive. As a retired teacher and someone who loves Thailand I will accept that the foundation is doing good work. I just think "The Fields of Athenry" is an odd choice.
@dravidwake I knew you would have to be English to say something like that...This is a beautiful song and very famous world wide..Who cares what kind of song they are singing as long as they are enjoying themselves......Great stuff is what I say...Sing it loud and sing it proud...
@dravidwake You would rather they had sung 'God save the Queen'. Perhaps as the Englishman I presume you are, you should listen to the lyrics and learn something about the cost to non English people of being a part of the 'great' British Empire.
@dravidwake The address of the school is on our website
Come and "put it to the test".
The children's singing has raised much needed funds, and five children with Down syndrome now enjoy an inclusive education. Some people can't see that as a good thing.
@daveobhoy Well done Dave, I gave a scorch to another clever dewed in one of their other songs, it is wonderful stuff and should, and hopefully will be heard all over Athenry /Ireland
They speak more English than i do Irish fair play to them.

I don't mind the kids learning English. I object to the political bias.
