lol they're spinning.Anyone could be one of these dervishes.Just put on a dress and spin your ass off. Very entertaining. they sure do know how to spin.
That statement shows very little understanding of a different culture. These people devote their lives to a spiritual path that seeks one-ness with the divine spirit. It is from their dedication and live view that they choose to express themselves through the spinning. It's not simply someone in a dress spinning circles.
Hi from Vancouver Island-Nanaimo, proudly I AM TURKISH and thanks to your video I had chance to show whirling dervishes with the explanation to my friends... Also I should say that sound of Ney take me baack to my childhood memories... Thanks again
I saw them, I believe in the same location (the Orient Express Station?) on Sept 29th, '06 and I still think about it. Thanks for the notes you added to your video. The more I learn about them, the more intrigued I am.
That was so cool. And to see them in Istanbul. Totally the best. You did great right from where you were. Excellant work, I wish I was there, Maybe someday.. I can't believe this was just last week!
