It's almost like your petting hypnotised him, haha. Beautiful boy, it's always such a shame when a little one reaches the end, sorry for your loss. My 2 boys were abandoned by their previous owner and we think they treated them roughly too when lifting them, as they're very timid and squeak in distress when picked up, they only relax when they're having a cuddle. Poor things.

This is so precious! I was crying and laughing watching it. So sorry for your loss. I have 4 males that I love dearly. My hairless has had sugery twice with no improvement...cancer. So sad that they have such a short life span. It's clear you cared for and loved your Ratly. I am doing the same for my little Wormtail in his last days. Wish there were more people like you in the world, it would definatly be a more loving place.

This video was beautiful. Ratley reminds me very much of my own rat John who passed in August of 2010. It's difficult to describe to people what an amazing bond can be formed between a rat and his or her parents, and your video did a wonderful job of portraying just that. Ratley truly seems a happy little guy with no worries, and nothing makes me happier than to see something like that. Thanks for posting it.
Male rats are generally lazy and love this kind of stuff. if he didn't he would simply walk away. So please know what you are saying before cussing without reason at a person who is actually a REALLY good owner if the rat is allowing this. Rats generally wont even SLEEP around or on people unless they trust them 100%.

Very cute! My hooded rex dumbo rat daisy was awesome like that! She even loved to drink beer and wine so i had to be careful if anyone drank to put the cups away from her! she would also beg for alcohol if she could smell it but i didnt like giving it to her because i was worried about her health! Although one time she did accidentally get into a knocked over beer and she got drunk!!She was ok though and sobered up in about 3 hours with some bread and water!

Ratley reminds me of my first rat(used for military testing and then eventually retired) he too was quite a handful and sweet. My dad rescues rats all the time so we always have a couple but none of them ever compared to our first. This video made me cry and very few things do I have to say thank you for sharing.
I have two lovely rats, Linal & Richy, I let them run around my room for around 3 hours a day to keep them entertained and they are very spoiled little boy's. :)

This is why I prefer MALE rats! :) I had 2 who both grew up to be big, laidback, lazy squishes! One I could even belly-rub into a stupor! LOL! They both were so sweet, calm & cuddly. They bruxed their teeth & boggled their eyes just like Ratley when I gave them loving attention. Female rats, by contrast, tend to be more hyper, bouncy & independent. Still very smart & affectionate, just a different temperament. I just prefer boys! :) Thanks for sharing your Ratley w/ us. <3

I miss my rats - I had two boys, one lazy and calm, the other like Sonic the Hedgehog, but they were both the sweetest, smartest pets I've ever had. I'd like more but I think it's a choice between getting rats and keeping my husband, and so far the husband is winning.
Wow, what a great rat!! Mine are still getting used to be handled! They're only youngins though. I hope they can grow up to be at least half of what this guy is like!

Ratley reminds me of my first rat(used for military testing and then eventually retired) he too was quite a handful and sweet. My dad rescues rats all the time so we always have a couple but none of them ever compared to our first. This video made me cry and very few things do I have to say thank you for sharing.

I have two lovely rats, Linal & Richy, I let them run around my room for around 3 hours a day to keep them entertained and they are very spoiled little boy's. :)

thats so cool! i got 3 rats myself, one dont like any attention, i got a baby and hes really cute and just likes wondering off and doing his own thing, and i got another one that loves the attention i might try this on mine :)

This is why I prefer MALE rats! :) I had 2 who both grew up to be big, laidback, lazy squishes! One I could even belly-rub into a stupor! LOL! They both were so sweet, calm & cuddly. They bruxed their teeth & boggled their eyes just like Ratley when I gave them loving attention. Female rats, by contrast, tend to be more hyper, bouncy & independent. Still very smart & affectionate, just a different temperament. I just prefer boys! :) Thanks for sharing your Ratley w/ us. <3

What a beautiful boy! And you can see he was loved and felt safe and secure with his humans.
I miss my rats - I had two boys, one lazy and calm, the other like Sonic the Hedgehog, but they were both the sweetest, smartest pets I've ever had. I'd like more but I think it's a choice between getting rats and keeping my husband, and so far the husband is winning.
