It was a beautiful game and both Japan and the US played with passion and had respect for each other. The Us could have hide the ball from Japan at the end of the game and try to waste time but, they didn't. I think The US team was the better team and try to win the game from the very frist minute. I think the Japaness Couch won the game for Japan.

@TofuUnion @hyakatubby Aya Miyama actually said in Japanese that she had enjoyed tasting the relish of victory but she had wished to show her respect for USWNT simultaneously, for she has several close friends, including Hope Solo, on that team. Please be aware that Aya Miyama shared high fives with substitute players on Japan's national team every time she scored a goal in the World Cup matches. She is definitely filled with compassion.

Maybe Miyama would act different if she didn't lose her home and several friends just months ago. I doubt it, though. Hope I am wrong, but I don't think any US player in any sport would hug an opposing player BEFORE celebrating a championship. Maybe after; not before.

@hyakatubby Miyama was an all star player in WPS in 2009 - 10 and has many friends in TeamUSA. I guess that's why. Also Wambach congratulated many Japanese players with handshakes after the match, probably because she and Sawa played together in Washington Freedom.

@TofuUnion agree! Also, Hope and Aya played a season with the Spirit,--a year before the World Cup. They seem pretty close. I'll always remember this WC for great play, and the sportsmanship. Exciting matches!

同感です。宮間選手は今でも変わらず大ファンですが、アメリカ側­からみれば、もう少し時間が欲しかったかもしれませんね。もちろ­ん、宮間選手には一切邪気はなく、良い試合を共に闘った相手に敬­意を表わそうとしたのですし、ダメ！と言えるほど失礼とも思えな­い個々の価値観等にも関係してくることなので批判する気は毛頭あ­りませんが、あまりにも日本側からの一方的な見方ばかりが、英語­日本語問わず飛び交っているのにはちょっと違和感を感じました。­美しいシーンだとも思います。ただその一方で、アメリカからすれ­ば、もう少し落ち着く時間が欲しいだろうなぁ、日本の選手と交わ­る前に、と冷静に考えすぎてしまう自分もいます。繰り返しますが­、宮間選手は相手のことも気遣えるし、プレーもメンタルも最高レ­ベルの選手で尊敬しています。この行動が間違いだとは思いません­が、そういう見方も出来るなぁ、ということです
