Trocadero used to feel like an exciting futuristic place. such a shame its just shops now. i was about 17 at the time and used to love going to tower records, buying laserdisk movies for my new player then popping to the attractions. its lame now

I remember visiting Segaworld with my parents for my 10th birthday. Strange to think that was 14 years ago...

Fantastic memories :) Had my photo taken with Sonic, and went in this weird dodgems type ride where you fired tennis balls out at other people...

Amazed to find this video as well, it looks just as good as I remember it. Shame there's not more footage :)

Don't blame Sega, blame the public. Look at how utterly desolate the place was. That was the story of SegaWorld's short-ass life. Never enough business.

Building (let alone running) something like this isn't free and Sega invested MILLIONS only to see it fall flat on its face cuz not enough people came.

It was a horrifically gigantic waste of time and money 4 Sega and had they kept them all open, they woulda gone bellyup.

The blame lies with the customers. Thank them.

Yes. The top 4 floors have been vacant for about 4-5 years - and the second half of the escalator hasn't worked over the same time. There is talk of a huge redevelopment of the whole complex, but then along came the credit crunch. I reckon this will end up like a gang run version of Battersea Power Station, Falling apart.....

Trocadero used to be amazing with Segaworld and the ALIENS ride. Now its turned into some crappy arcade called funland with not even half the rides it used to have. Great Vid.

Totally, that's what I won't forget about my visit their - way back - 15 races, not outside the top 3 in any of them, but only 2 wins for winner stays on. I hurt so badly the following day - and they say video games don't keep you fit.

My dad worked for LWT, and they threw their christmas party there once. Everything was free, even the rides. That was like the best day of my life. Segaworld was SO awesome, and before that there was the Aliens ride there, cant believe what a shitter its turned into.. :(

I miss SegaWorld! I used to go there a lot when I was a kid. I sometimes go to Funland (that's what's on the bottom 3 floors now) but it just doesn't compare and doesn't have half the amount of stuff SegaWorld had on it's 9 floors!
