@ThisIsName9 Well a good sousaphone is worth it when you think about the fact that a tuba is awkward and the sousa makes it much easier to carry around, though I have to admit a tuba is more open than a sousa. Ours are 7 years old and they still play fine, slides move, valves are not problematic at all, and the tone is good.

@MrGuitar144 Im pretty jealous we rocked yamahas i think and my valves would expand beyond belief. i couldnt even use it during the summer because my valves would wider than the casings. blew my mind. but i've always loved marching tubas just because when your throwin 40 pounds around all day caompared to the 8 pounds everyone els is complaining about noone questions your a badass. lol.

No actually, sousaphones can play lower notes than (some) tubas. And the sousaphone sound is fuller, and makes a bigger sound. (when played well that is)

@boom253ROBLOX No, a marching tuba goes on your shoulder and looks like a tuba. A sousaphone is a unique instrument that was made to fill the same role as a tuba on a marching field (it also puts out more sound, but only has two settings - on and off; you cannot make a sousaphone sound good).

I play both. the tuba can't hit as low of notes as the sousaphone can. and the sousaphone was designed as a different instrument. if you want to go technical enough to defend your statement you can say "i was talking about the tuba section"(which also includes euphonium) i know you weren't. you were talking about the concert/wagner tuba. so all in all you are wrong.
