    Bmw is good. But it dosnt matter what car you have. If its completely stock, chances are it sucks in its own way. I wonder how soft and squishy a stock m5 is? Nurburgring lap time?

  • I wouldn't own a GTR cause to me that dash is hideous. I choose cars big time of their interiors and what I will actually be seeing while I'm driving. I'm not about outside looks at all anymore, i mean I can't see it when I'm driving and why the fuck would I want to 'impress' anyone. I'd rather them look at what they think is a piece of shit and make their day more miserable than their existence already is. xD

    what makes the diffrence is the 4wd pluss gt-r has the dual clutch transmission with its aggressive gearing takes no time and the torque is always there dosn't go for a while when u change ... unlike the m5 which has a single clutch transmission .

  • I own an 850csi and 135i. 26 years old working for an engineering company in Canada. I did my Master's project on the BMW McLaren F1 engine in Europe. ^^

    Why does an M5 need nitrous anyway.. V10 power.. 0-100 in 4.2 sec while the GTR does it in 3.2-3.5.

    The reason for the loss is because the GTR transmissions wear down easily and cause really bad shifts. Go to your nearest Nissan dealer and ask. It is a big headache for them at the moment.

    You obviously know a bit more than the average tool head like my self. Love the 850csi what a classic and can still turn heads. I have an e60 m5 I have thought about tuning it before but I am worried that is going f up the car. Also the tunes cost lots of money for not too much gains. But I am a knob at the end of the day cant help my self. What do you think the effect of Dinan or Kelleners sport package would have on the car? You thoughts much appreciated thanks

    dinan software works very well with BMW vehicles. if i had the time to deal with customs and such.. i would personally order the turbo kit from g-power.de and then go to the nearest dinan tuner (many across north america, 1 or 2 in canada). Have them install the chip software. With all this being said about tuning, plz keep the car LOOKING like stock :) don't go and order some wing, etc. :D

  • @Vlax321 Dont make excuses for the loss... we could hear that his trans is shifting perfectly. Th M5 has superior high rpm power and better high speed gearing, that's how he reeled in a GTR at 150 mph. Legitimate race both times!

  • VDC now doesnt have to be off to rev the car high like in the 09 models which was deemed LC now u can engage a 3,000RPM drop without having to turn off the VDC. So by getting rid of the fact that u needed to turn off VDC or LC in 09 which isnt so 2010 is what Nissan got rid ofaka getting rid of LC aka high RPM VDC off lunches just to clarify. You said Is controlled by a bunch of Nissan electronics...

So regardless using that method automatically voids your warrantyeven if u were the first person in history to take a R35 off roading & used LC 5 months prior to it actually...

I could have been referring to Vette’s from 60’s which were muscle cars. That and u’d be surprised how light muscle cars were compared to newer cars. A 67sting ray only weighed a hair over 3,300lbs. Even my 67Mustang weighs around 2,700-2,800lbs ;-)

  • For one Ford made the body, it was just assimbled in the UK. Ford discontinued it then sold the rights to the name, Stafir Engineering (a UK company) bought it out & made a continuation of the body. Ford tried to buy it back but Stafir Engineering wanted to much & that's why ford just named it the Ford GT not GT40 b/c they relinquished the right to the name. Take away the advantage of the GTR's traction from a stop, start from a roll & ur boy toy isn't so much faster in comparison to the BMW down such a long straight. Go read up on ur stats that ur so stuck on b/c ur ur comparing times from a dead stop not a roll & u also grabbed the worst time recorded of 4.5 for the BMW, stop trying to dress up ur GTR...just be true to ur sats man.

  • There's really something about those Ford V8s. They have that incredibly distinctive Rich sound. Why they sound so much better than Ferrari, GM, etc V8s I really don't know, but there's nothing like em. And in my opinion almost all V8s sound better than V12s.

  • get the GTR a MT, and things would be a alot different as well. There is a lot of time loss between shift compared to an F1 gear box. Also the M5 is a tuned family car, not a full breed track car like nissan is. This video should be reconized as two cars in two different classes.

  • Well of course they try to make it the top car of them all...b/c in it's class it has dominated everything more or less just about every category. But in it's class though, you can't compare ZR1 to a BMW just as can't compare a GTR to a ZR1, or BMW to a GTR. But it's cool to see what either car can do when the two cross paths.

  • The M5 is catching up right at the end of the course, this is where the M5 uses a few HP over the GTR. In addition the M5 is alot heavier due to it's body SEDAN against the mighty 2doors GTR, in my comment the M5 is very quick.

    I recently did a few highway pulls against a friend's GTR and the result was identical to this.

    I'm not sure this M5 is all that much quicker than a stock one.

    But in stock vs stock,,, M5 has no chance against r35 gtr. GTR is alot faster... and this is abosolute fact that nobody can argue with...

  • Stock 3.8L V6 vs modified 5.0L V10. Both nearly same weight. One down about 80HP.The result should be obvious. The GTR actually did better than expected considering all the factors.

  • The M5 won simply because it has more hp. Approx. 530 with mods vs. 480. The weight difference between the two is almost negligible. It's less than 200 lbs difference. the GT-R has BETTER aero. Check out the Cd between the two. Many of you are stating random, thoughtless facts.

  • the reason why the nissan lost was because of the awd and the twin turbo,that hasnt got the best top end.plus,its heavy and not very aerodynamic..

  • Yeah I have a Nissan Sentra SER- Spec V the top end isn't the best. But everything on the GTR is aerodynamics right down to the side mirrors. watch top gear's review of the GTR not the train race but after that one.

  • yeah i meant bad aerodynamics compared with a ferrari or a porsche.its clear the gtr is aerodynamic,but not as much as other supercars.the gtr is also thought for corners..
