  • Shore they may have sampled other people's music and not given credit where credit was due,but how many American bands had sampled Led Zeppelin's music, how many times was the riff of Whole lotta love sampled by other rock bands and Zep was not credited, it's just the evolution of music.

  • Wellp. I'm glad I never really got into Led Zeppelin.

  • wolf is the best of them all,a voice from hell,in a really good way

  • how is it that more UK people listen to a crappy american radio station than actual Americans?

  • What a couple of retards-- bring out the evidence and then blame the victim (Jake Holmes). These two should rot in hell along with Jimmy Plaigiarism and Robber Plant. (thanks 94Cioppa) They're correct about "most overrated band" and "hook line and sinker" but completely clueless about ethics. How do these two morons have a job? What a pair of wankers. They don't even know Bert Jansch, and proud of it. There are many other better exposés eslewhere on YouTube.

  • Retarded Americans...

  • @Redbulldozer13 Don't be so upset, you still have the Beatles to look up to after all.

  • @Ferreira018 upset? Why should i be? Led Zep never, stole songs... Some idiots haters that has nothing else to do, thinked of some crap to slander LZ for brainless Americans that doesnt know a shit about music to believe. Besides even you Beatles took riffs from blues musicians and the original authors don't care. All the music has something simmilar, rock'n'roll developed from blues, it's normal that that times musicians tried to play something that they liked.

  • @Redbulldozer13 U MAD BRO?

  • @metalfreak4677 you're the one who's mad...

  • @Redbulldozer13 Cool story bro.

  • @metalfreak4677 almost as cool as your nerdish blathering.

  • @Redbulldozer13 Lol you're pissed off hahahahaha! Fuck Zepp

  • @metalfreak4677 yeah i'm pissed of idiots like you, who are too retarded to write a normal sentence...

  • @Redbulldozer13 U MAD BRO?

  • Comment removed

  • @Redbulldozer13 You would ask wouldn't you?

  • @metalfreak4677 well I ask because you sound like a brainless gay fag...

  • @Redbulldozer13 Gay fag? I've heard that from 3 year old's.

  • @metalfreak4677 how nice for you! Even a 3 year old knows that you're a gay fag.

  • @Redbulldozer13 Hahahahah you're just pissed that Led Zeppelin sucks ass. And you no what? Get over it because you're that 3 year old....

  • @metalfreak4677 I feel sorry for you... you are a child with a serious psychological illness...

  • @Redbulldozer13 You're the one with problems you're getting pissed over these fags hahahah

  • @metalfreak4677 U GAY TROLL?

  • @Redbulldozer13 Shut. The fuck. Up.

  • Jimmy Plagerism

  • Part 2 of my first comment: I personally could never respect them. Just like no matter how funny Carlos Mencia is (which I personally think he is horrible) he steals jokes. Based on principle I could never enjoy any of his work knowing that.

  • Put it this way...if you were in a band (as I am) and worked really hard and wrote a really good song and then some band like Disturbed just stole the song and no one knew (or everyone knew but said they just "borrowed" riffs or "made it better") you'd be absolutely outraged.

  • I think everyone is missing the point. Opie and Anthony aside, these guys used almost entire songs of other people's. It wasn't a "Oh I like the swing feel of that song." or "I like the kind of dynamic they have right there. It was "I love that chord progression. And the overall structure of that song! Man, I wish I wrote that! Unless........" So yea, talented musicians, and great writers when they weren't robbing songs from lesser known bands...but based on principle and principle alone

  • You're missing the point cincinnatus1869. The music is good(just not their own) I'd go as far to discredit them for their place in "rock history" now.

  • @McBlaggs Its a comedy show, your taking them more seriously than they've ever taken themselves. And no, they are probably the most over rated band on the face of the earth.

  • @Ferreira018 These guys are dumb, they should the spirit of blues is to work off other peoples shit and every member of the band is amazing at what they do. They acknowledged that some of their songs were covers.

  • @Ferreira018 Well comedy is suppose to funny . I'm not hearing that here . And Led Zeppelin is respected and admired by alot of the best and most successful musicians in the rock business . I don't imagine they are sweating it because these clowns or you don't like what they do .If you dont like the music ,I get it , but going on like you are offended personally because of some percieved ethical violation is just pretentious and weak .

  • So what? Led Zep took average songs and made them amazing songs.

  • I'm so tired of people complaining about Zep's innovations. Please stop bitching. Your music sucked and they turned it into art. Bow down, naives!

  • @ancientsymbol plagiarizing is not innovating

  • These to guys are morons. Taurus is nothing like stairway. 1 cord progression. Jimmy's solo absolutely AWESOME on Stairway. Taurus. lol whatever. Dazed and Confused has the same bass line as Jake Holmes but the rest of the song is totally different. No comparion. Its called influences dumm dumm. They are not copied bone heads.

  • @jonesj14 - "These to guys are morons"? How about spelling "two" correctly? How about learning to spell "chord" before you try talking about music? What the f*** is a 'comparion'? "Jimmy is solo absolutely AWESOME on Stairway"? Dude... you're the last person to be calling O&A names.

  • @TriplePProject Is your life so boring that you have nothing better to do but spell check all of the comments you read on You Tube? You actually took the time to correct my spelling. WOW!!!! It is obvious that you aren't capable of sticking to the subject at hand. People are here to talk about MUSIC and nobody wants to hear your crying about spelling. This isn't English 101. And who says DUDE anymore? Spell check the word "Beeatch" Go get a life Beeatch boy girlie girl.

  • @jonesj14 I apologize for the name calling. It wasn't necessary. Actually these guys are cool and I like the O&A show. In my humble opinion I think the show would have done justice by comparing the songs side to side instead of 10 second clips. I agree these songs inspired Zeppelin. Zeppelin took an idea and turned it into a master peice. Most Bands bring out some of their influences in their own songs but without copying the song. The songs are quite different. Listen to both versions.

  • HAHHAHA *the comment under me*

  • Stern had a show about this way later than Opie and Anthony

  • So, who did they steal Since I've Been Loving You from? Anyone...?

And I understand the problem is got nothing to do with the music, but with what the guitarist said about the authenticity of the songs? is that right? Ok then, enjoy listening to that holmes guy, while I listen to the musical work of genius which is Led Zeppelin I. Oh, and have you heard of a girl named Nina S I M O N E? Great voice but "creationally" (which apparently is not a word) and artistically was a fucking thief, right?

  • @shulizim Moby Grape pretty much wrote 'Since I've Been Loving You.' It was called 'Never.'

  • Well I got that figure from taking into account most of the "stealing" came from Led Zeppelin I, which leaves 7 other studio albums (disregarding Coda), one of which is a double album, so that accounts for roughly about 90% of their own material.

  • who cares about led zeppelin?

    BLACK SABBATH RULES!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @lordnimr0d You probably like the older versions because (unlike the Zep songs) you haven't heard them 1 million times already. ..or maybe not, I dunno.

  • Is Led Zeppelin's music good either way? Yes. Are they good musicians? Yes. Is 90% of the rest of their catalog theirs. Yes. Has just about every band in the world copied other artists? Yes. Did Led Zeppelin expand upon the original musical idea they supposedly stole from in almost every case in which copyright law actually promotes? Yes. Am I going to let this ruin Led Zeppelin for me? No.

  • @ljhmusicman1 they stole many of their best songs. nobody else does that and expects to be taken series. Why do zeppelin fans try to deny this.

I think they stole 14 songs.. i bet that is more then 10% of their songs..

  • @45arther How about Kashmir, Achilles Last Stand, In the Evening, All My Love, Fool in the Rain, Trampled Underfoot, In the Light, Ten Years Gone, Immigrant Song, Heartbreaker, and all of Houses of the Holy and Led Zeppelin IV which is two of their most popular albums.

  • Funny thing is the Zep versions of these songs are all light years better than the originals.

  • @lowlypeasant I actually disagree. Jake Holmes "Dazed and Confused" is great to me.

  • Bout 9 minutes in... its the Ren and Stimpy song!

  • dazed and confused was yardbirds.. with page...

  • Spirit took the intro from Davey Grahams guitar intro to a cover of "Cry me a river" done in 1959

  • @keithmequick Isn't that ironic.

  • There's A LOT more to Stairway to Heaven than that first part & Page asked Spirit if he could used that part. Where did the rest come from? Page's own creativity but no one goes any further than the first 4 chords. Dig a little deeper and you'll find Zeppelin is original and brilliant... period!

  • The thing is...if as a musician you hear something that has the potential to be genius, and you know that you can take it to the next level, then why the hell wouldnt you improve on it? The only reason anyone knows spirit is because of zeppelin. Why let something as great as the opening chords fizzle out and die an obscure death when you can take them and build one of the greatest songs of all time around them...the solo...the lyrics...plagiarized my ass...more like saved.

  • @suim2007 you gotta give credit where credit is due. doesn't matter if they made it better. they stole it. they gave no credit to the original artist. taking someone else's work and claiming it as you're own is the exact definition of plagiarism...

  • @suim2007

B.S. It would be one thing if they credited them but they didn't.

  • @suim2007 MAN STFU COPYCATS SUCK PERIOD

  • This really bums me out

  • Theyre COVERS!!!!

  • That taurus song really bums me out

  • Big deal! They stole part of a few songs...they have 100 other (and in some cases better) original songs...and dazed and confused is like the simplest guitar line ever, who cares! Still a great band IMO

  • @austrich97

I get your point, but still once you are labeled a musical thief you can never get away from it.

  • these bitches just hating so wat but who made it better

  • love how these two make fun of jake holmes for 20 min. the guy wrote the army theme 'be all you can be' and is one of the most successful jingle writers ever. know where i learned that? the howard stern show... i guess they didn't steal the episode note for note

  • @heyITSdoghouse they also fail to mention that zeppelin gives credit to holmes for dazed and confused

  • @thepickletrain they changed it when they sold the rights to the company or somethin

  • @thepickletrain they just started giving credit when they were conforted about it. I know i have the orginal album .

  • ledzeppelin some theives!

  • Chord progressions are a lame claim for theft.

Robert Johnson was one of their huge influences. They gave him all kinds of credit and put him as the person who wrote the songs.

  • @HogsBoysMavsCards ok so listen to killing floor and listen to the lemon song.....

  • @assfacedfucker Yeah but thats different because in the beginning alot of those rock bands, cream, the byrds, stones, took blues standards and Covered them its not the same as ,.... the damn ,..... taurus song

  • @Dan7 but to change the name of the original and not credit anyone

  • Chord progressions are a lame claim for theft.

  • ZEPPELIN DIDNT STEAL MUSIC! these radio guys are on crack

  • @guitarsbikesandpie yeah they did. Listen to some Bert Jansch and Davey Graham and see how Jimmy Page took some of their songs from note to note. They constantly took music from others without crediting them.

  • @guitarsbikesandpie uh ...YER THEY DI DI DI DI DID RERARD did you not hear the fucking tune?

  • LED ZEPPELIN DIDNT STEAL SONGS!!! they kick ass, and these guys are on fricken crack...i hate this

  • I have to say even when people are taking 5 second clips to prove they're theives led zeppelin still gives me chills.

  • Surprise surprise, when you sign a contract your overlords are liable to sue people after you're dead for improving upon music.... any musician knows there's only so many chords in the world.

  • Im pretty sure Jimmy Page recorded Dazed and Confused with the yardbirds much earlier then 67

  • zeppelin sux, always have...its no suprise they stole this shit....i heard about this a long time ago...its good they inspired so many....milli vanilli for instance

  • zeppelin sux, always have...its no suprise they stole this shit....i heard about this a long time ago...

  • sad that Zep fans just won't admit their band ripped people off just because they "kick ass"

  • Jimmy Page composed dazed and confused while he was in the yardbirds genius. He has as much right to the song as anyone else in the band. And honestly has there ever been an artist or band that HASN'T sued because they're greedy and egotistical? And stairway has decending bass notes... SO DO THOUSANDS OF OTHER SONGS but in different keys and chord progressions. Man these goons say Zeppelin are thieves? No no no they are thieves for stealing 9mins 37secs of my time.

  • Fuck Led Zeppelin and fuck all there fans that told me I was wrong! Don't even try to deny it, You little bastards can try your hardest to twist this around and say Led Zeppelin is a good band but just shut the fuck up! Your favorite band blows admit it! So once more Fuck Led Zeppelin and Fuck all there fans that said I was wrong! Fucking idiots.

  • the tragedy is that led zeppelin are filthy rich. the blues players they robbed,

    died dirt poor....sigh

  • @MISSEDHERSIR and those blues players worked off the blues players they loved

  • Haha, I don't care what they took, which versions of those song am I going to buy from iTunes? Zeppelin's, because they're better.

Oh by the way, you can tell Stairway's riff was based of Spirit, but clearly is not the same thing ,at all, actually.

  • @devinsbrother Congrats, you're paying for music in 2011, dummy.

  • @Skelaxin I've payed for music and not payed for music lmao, i just used the "buy from iTunes" part for enthusiasm on my point...

  • Kudos for exposing Zep, but these two guys are idiots.

  • I hear they're going to release an offical tell-all book about the history of Led Zeppelin....but a lot of the chapters are taken from Willie Dixon's autobiography....*rimshot*

  • @CoolerKing37 ZING!!!

  • COLLAGE ZEPPELIN?

    PLAGI ZEPPELIN?

    LED SAMPLIN'?

  • I'm glad people are broadcasting that Zep stole lots of lyrics and/or riffs of other people's songs, at least for perspective's sake. The only thing I don't like about it is that Jimmy Page primarily (and probably to some extent Robert Plant), decided to not give credits to those who's songs they stole. That makes them lowlifes. To me, they took very lame versions of other's songs and breathed magic into them, regardless of who's they stole. That's talent. It ain't integrity, but it is talent.

  • All the Zeppelin fans are dazed and confused.

  • What is the big deal? The sole PART of 4 different songs. No one wants to give them credit for the other 100 songs they wrote? And wow, that one "stairway to heaven" riff takes up about 1/10 of the song. And for Dazed and Confused, they had COMPLETElY different lyrics and many other rhythm parts in the song not to mention the "riff" they stole was so simple that people shouldn't even make a big deal out of it.

  • @Sueds90 1ST THREE ALBUMS ZEPPELIN DID ONLY SONG THAT IS ORGINAL IS GOOD TIMES BAD TIMES and thats questionable!! cause page was a session man and heard alotta stuff and fing stole it. ZEPPELIN SUXXS AND HAVE NO CREATIVITY OF THEIR OWN AND PAGE WAS A SLOPPY LIVE GUITARIST!!!!

  • hey o&a, didnt u rip this off of stern?

  • @gibbsies Impossible since this took some research and critical thinking.

  • @Ferreira018

    haha exactly.

    "I invented research. Hoohoohoo"

  • @Ferreira018 Definitely stole this idea...ironic when the subject matter is plagarism.

  • @gibbsies That is the most general accusation I've heard. Might as well start pointing out bands that use a guitar, bass and drums as copycats of each other. You silly, moronic person.

  • @gibbsies True. @gibbsies False. Actually he's kind of half right because Howard did have the guy who did all the research on the show. The Stern show's even the third link on the right.

Zeppelin's still one of the best bands ever though.

  • almost every rock band ripped off robert johnson knowingly or inadvertantly

  • so this is what a broken heart feels like :(

  • "opie n anthony r dum lol"

Every Led Zeppelin fan who can't face the truth.

Sorry fuckers, your overrated band isn't that original.

  • While the stealing is true. O&A are biggest piece of shit radio nobodies ever.

  • ARE YOU F*CKING ME MY F*CKING FAVORITE BAND OF ALL F*CKING TIME IS A BIG F*CKING LIE!!!!!!!!!

  • fuck a fine throw em in jail, i feel like ive been told the world is flat , havent been this bummed since i found out mr brady was gay

  • ladies and gentlmen mr jimmy pLage

  • dude the dazed and confused ... led zeppelin just toke the name.--"

  • Opie and Anthony are idiots.

  • ANYONE who plays ANY blues at all is ripping off American Blacks. This is nothing "new". Musicians have been riffing off of each other since there were musicians. There's only 7 major chords and 8 bar and 12 bar blues; only so many ways you can put them together. Usually when a guitarist learns riffs and songs of someone else's; its because they are an inspiration; no one ever learns someone else's songs to "rip them off". You guys are missing the whole point of music.

  • Next to KISS, Led Zeppelin is the silliest band of all time.

  • WOW. I'm so naive. I didn't know anything about this. Unreal.

  • who doesnt steal songs? zep, just did it better. stop being jealous that they made better music then you ever will.

  • @CJbass420

Saying they made it better is the most ridiculous excuse you could make for these guys.

So I suppose if someone rips off your car, soups up the engine to make it more powerful, puts on new wheels...I guess THAT suddenly makes it ok that they stole it???

Led Zep completely ripped off AMERICAN BLUES originated by black guitarists that had been playing blues for decades before LZ even formed!

  • @CJbass420

Willie Dixon (huge black songwriter for many artists in the 50's and 60's) sued Led Zep for a million bucks...and WON! Thats how guilty of plagiarism they were.

Every incredible blues lick that people think Jimmy Page came up with...he got from Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson and numerous other blues players that couldn't get credit for their own music back then because they were black.

No one's jealous...everyone's finally getting the story straight.

  • @King31395 they didnt steal everything, besides what do you expect? white people have a really hard time playing blues. besides what band hasnt ripped people off? everyone did. cream, the doors, the stones, everyone. and stealing a car is nothing like stealing music.

  • @CJbass420

They actually got very good at playing blues...people thought they were musical geniuses for playing like that ...when really what they did was learn note for note black american blues and stole whole blues songs.

The Stones even named themselves after a Muddy Waters song. He was their idol!

They got rich and famous and treated as Rock royalty while the originators of that music were completely ignored.

So for LedZep to go on and rip off "Stairway" too is no surprise.

  • @King31395 they didnt play the songs not for note, quit exagerating, they took the blues riffs and brought them in a newer heavier direction, and they did credit some of the people they ripped off. and its not just that i think they made it better, they simply did make it better. why do you think theyre versions are so well known, and the originals are'nt? why do you think it took so long for jake holmes to sue them? he knew they were better but he ran outta money...

  • @CJbass420

Yes, actually, they did steal songs note for note...uncredited covers of songs by Willie Dixon, Howlin Wolf, Blind Willie Johnson...too many to list here.

Even "Whole Lotta Love" is almost identical lyrically to Willies "You Need Love".

Why do you think they kept getting sued and opted to settle out of court?

They only started crediting the artists AFTERwards.

The blues is for everyone, but they got in trouble because they were covering songs and only crediting themselves.

  • @King31395 btw i just looked up you need love, hahaha the lyrics arent almost identical its more like 50% identical, proof that your clearly a joke.

  • @CJbass420

and stealing cars is not the same as music...but stealing someone's music and making millions off of it doesn't make it ok because you THINK you made it better.

  • so fuckin what those no hopers could do fuck all with the tracks so the mighty jimmy page showed them how to do it

  • opie and anthony are fags, fuck them. they gave credit where credit is due. you know who is overrated? fucking ozzy, hendrix, nirvana etc. no disrespect to them though. fuck that guy named pete. calling everyone zombies. im sure you fags have a favorite band too. ZOMBIE! ZOMBIE! OMYGOSH OMYGOSH, the only fucking thing they "stole" was lyrics. and fuck ferreira to.

  • Bottom line is people blew smoke up their ass for years about how "original" they were. I still love Zeppelin though. Poor Jimmy and all those Sabbath/Zeppelin arguments.

  • they made shitty music into great music.

  • these guys are fuck heads

  • I like Led Zeppelin and i admit they Stole music no argument there but, they had some good original songs i think

  • but this is just led zeppelin 1, after that it was all original stuff

  • @danthebard Well i hate to burst your bubble but stairway is kinda on IV...

  • @BigMason53 ya but still there is no quarter, misty mountain hop ect

  • Check out the examples on the right. Jake Holmes used to be the warm up man for the Yardbirds, you know, that band Jimmie Page used to be in before Led Zeppelin... The Yardbirds did a version too!

  • @cbr0oks ....of course they did. Is that why they're being sued again?

  • @Ferreira018 dazed and confused is the only song where absolute credit was due. they took some liberties within the industry, especially on their first album, HOWEVER, if you take the small number of songs in question out of the mix, no one can deny their legendary performances and lasting impact on rock n roll. LEGENDARY.

  • @Ferreira018 the guy that wrote dazed and confused actually didn't even want the royalties,

jimmy page was more than generous and gave him half of the royalties

    everyone copies in music anyway

    everyone has their influences

there is not one artist that is 100% originals

  • @kenrick4562 people take pieces of songs and riffs here and there. but zeppelin straight up took full songs and full riffs. fuck them.

  • @kenrick4562 If Page and Plant could make up things as well as their zombie like fans, they wouldn't find themselves in court so often! LMAO!!

  • @Ferreira018 relax, guy.

  • @Ferreira018 i got a ton of hate messages because of this message i left 6 months ago. I've thought about removing it several times, but then I tell myself everyone's entitled to their own points of view.

  • @cbr0oks asshole face it. zeppelin sucks ass. and they stole. so fuck you and them. faggot.

  • @cbr0oks dude...maybe 30% of zep's stolen songs are credited. look it up.

  • Listen, stupid, even if they do give credit, they still did not make up the songs themselves, very much diminishing the legacy of Led Zeppelin. Like Jimmy said, they are not creative, and that is a huge part of what cements a brilliant muscical career. Led Zeppelin, THE COVER BAND, are kick ass you dummy

  • @ajmoriar relax, guy.

  • @cbr0oks

a lot of artists have won lawsuits v LZ for plagiarism. look at an original printing of the credit slip for LZ 1-4 and then look at one printed today and you'll see very different writing credits

  • Sorry the Led Zeppelin song Nobody's Fault But Mine was written by Willie Johnson another Blues artist back in the 20's

  • LZ stole more than what is being played here. The song When The Levee Breaks was written by Kansas Joe Mccoy in 1929...Robert Plant's lyrics in the beginning are the same as his. The Lemon Song on LZ 2 was done by Robert Johnson and Howlin Wolf...Robert Plants lyrics are the same in many parts. The LZ song "Nobody's Fault But Mine" was done by blues artist Robert Johnson in the mid 1930's. BTW, I like Zeppelin but they are overrated!

  • Comment removed

  • This is robbery! I'm not a Led Zep fan anymore, these Led Stealers just recreated what was already created for the world! It's like remaking a film from 1960's that no1 ever knew about & saying you wrote & directed it! Imagine if ET was a dude & remade into a hit film, and the new director/writer got credit for it? Unbelievable!

  • @qqqTOXICqqq way to stay commited fag. they gave credit where it was due. sometimes they forgot, but who gives a fuck.

  • this is becoming playing stupid and these two guys are the "wisest" of all

The copyright thing is needed for corporation and lawyers, music NEEDS to be shared.. now, get over it or simply find some instruments and try to make these tunes more sublime that Zeppelin made them.

Overrated you say?! fuck off with you and your facebook radio station
