This is a good trap, and doing it like the ones on tvthat catch people can be dangerous. I built one and tricked my brother into the trap. The noose was so quick it gave him severe rope burn. Anyway Awesome vid! Thank You

i did this yesterday from using this vid but instead of using a 3 foot tree i used a 30 foot tree it was only about half a foot wide but really flexible so i bent it down and now i have human trap :) used extra trick rope so the weight of there body does not cut them on the foot when the noose get them i tested it with a stick and it could pull me not up a tree but until i let go of the stick lol it takes 2 people to arm the trap lol but anyways thanks for the video :)

Hello, first off im very thankful you have this video, im going to Kentucky friday for a week or 2 and i plan on livin off the land in my familys forest for a couple days. im 12 and i live in miami, i watch dual survival all the time and recently they did one in kentucky with this trap so i wanted to try it out, i tried it succesfully in my backyard a couple minutea ago, hopefully ill get something in KY. once again thanks alot it was an awesome video, Good luck with future traps!

@RockyRoszel You need to be careful. Some states have laws against trapping animals. There is also the issue of diseases. Certain animals need special preparation, and some areas have rabies in certain animals. Make sure to do your homework before you get yourself into trouble, be it legal or medical.

For the two loops at the end of the rope, instead of doing the knot you did, can we just do another knot? I'm asking, because I wasn't able to see how you made those knots, so I wondered if there could be a substitute for it.

@ashikaru132 Yeah you can use other knots. The knot I use is called a bowline. There are many tutorials if you look it up. Other knots will work, but a bowline really is the best knot around, for almost any purpose. If you could only know how to tie one knot that would be the one to chose.

other than that, awesome tutorial man, great walkthrough and breakdown. you just haven't actually used this trap to catch a lot of (or any) animals.... and why would you?

just one problem, when you set the noose on the ground, you need to make an oval that is very tight to the trigger stick and not a circle that is so far away on the sides. this will ensure that half of the animal is in the loop and half of the animal is out of the loop when the trap goes off. if the whole animal is inside the loop, the loop will miss it.

(l) it needs to look more like this - the parentheses are the noose and the l is the trigger

( l ) and less like this if that makes sense
