  • Arsenio always did a great job with musical guests rather than Letterman with Paul Schaffer sticking his nose into every act. Otherwise the show was WAY too politically correct and completely one sided and predictable

  • too much whoppi

  • two ppl tellin it like it is....arsenio and whoopi. no apologies and keepin it real. a rare breed today

  • Lets get real...this show was excellent in the way the musical guests were allowed to do their thing...however it was far TOO political and thats what led to the eventual downfall as people got far too burned out on all the one sided views.

  • @ndjhnsn68 "people" like who?because

I thought the show was refreshing.

  • Arsenio had guest and music artiest that welcomed everyone. You had Snoop Dogg Dr Dre, you had KISS, and Megadeth. I mean seriously back then you wouldn't see hard core rap stars or hard rock bands like that on late night TV back in the day.

  • @Slacker4LiFe247 I hate to break it to you, but rap "music" sucks !

  • We need this brother back

  • The Arsenio Hall show was not exclusive. He catered to people who didn't really watch Carson, Leno or Letterman. His show was fun and groundbreaking. There will never be a show like this on late night again. This was the coolest show of the 90's. And it was only on for 5 years. Late night talk shows haven't been the same since. All the late night shows are carbon copies of each other now. Arsenio broke the mold.

  • nothing has change rich black people need to understand the white media will take you down, mj dead now they love him again, vick went to jail, but now he is a good fb player again to nike resigns him... tiger got a billion dollars and now the world feels sorry for the white porn star cause her heart was broken and paid her 6 million for her story, and now tiger is black with no endorsements.... and arsenio is now doing stand up in bars.... dont fuck with white people

  • they took his show off because like he daid at the beginning of this episode. the bosses said it was too black. thats why he ended it with james brown singing im black and im proud

  • @gmf20002 Really? I thought they canceled the show because of the Farrakhan interview.

  • @blinkzone1 That interview didn't help, but his ratings had been in serious decline the last 2 years of his show, and he was losing affliates to carry the show.

  • @blinkzone1 that as the REAL reason. The "suits" didn't like the fact that he had Farrakhan in, promoting black unity through tthe million man march..

  • BRING ARSENIO BACK !!!!!

  • Still wasting time on Whooppi........................................ please re-work these videos and shorten up on whoopi. You even cut-off the Godfather....Mr. J BRown

    Thanks for the memories!

  • i thought there was going to be some more whoopi after the break!

  • when he started he was inclusive to all cultures, if you watch the progression of the show he became exclusive to the urban community only, too bad cause he could have had a 10 to 20 year run. instead he had 5 year expiration date, now what.......

  • @thesallychancer Well said, my friend! I loved watching this show! But as the show grew, it seemed to focus so much more on the black community, I honestly felt like that I wasnt suppose to watch it. But! In the beginning, I LOVED THIS SHOW! I preferred it over johnny carson, and I loved him too

  • @chevynut71570 you feel your not supposed to watch a show because it has black people,,, have you ever looked at it this way, Arsenio was showing you another side of black people, rather than you seeing us on cops or the news and thinking all of us are gangsters or violent. I have my masters in Astro-physics from California State Eastbay, and everyday i go to work and hop in the elevator its always a white lady holding her purse or standing deep in the corner, why because the only images she

  • @decep01 Thats NOT what I was referring to, When I said, "I felt like I wasnt suppose to be watching it" What I meant by it was that I felt like he focusing on the black culture. It was NOT because he was black. LOL

  • @chevynut71570 sees is us on cops or the news, not know that is less than 4% of our population.....another example just like whoopi said no other late night shows wanted her, Denzeil, Wesley snipes, David Chapelle, Jaime foxx without Arsenio these great talents would have never been seen, because just like you said white people feel uncomfortable looking at black faces then and some now, carson, leno ect back would not book these guest so he did.....

  • @thesallychancer READ HIS BOOK when he started the production told him who he could bring to the couch it was two white and one black, he got sick of that and said it was his show, and it was, he brought guess the other shows would not book and that includes bill cosby, who at the time was an entertainment for 35 years and was on the carson show twice. Seinfeld who at the time was in show business 7 years was on carson 9 times. and the cosby show was still number one everywhere in the country

  • I remembered watching this 17 years ago

  • THANKS FOR SHARING SUCH A GREAT MOMENT IN HISTORY THE BEST TALK SHOW HOST WHO MADE IT FUN BACK THEN & ALWAYS WAS DIFFERENT WITH HIS SHOWS & IT WAS LIKE HE WAS @ HOME HAVING AN INTERVIEW WITH FOLKS & ONLY HOST TO PREVIEW HIP HOP @ ITS BEST & GIVE A FORUM TO ALL WALKS OF LIFE...THANKS FOR THIS!!!!!!

  • Whoopi is wasted. Love it.

  • WTF is she saying??

    Is she high?

  • End of an era.

  • He had Farrakhan on his show a few months before he was cancelled. The network told him not to....

  • He invite Louis Farrakhan on the show. The station objected, told him not to invite Farrakhan. He invited him for a 2 night interview. I think it was Fox, cancelled the show.

  • @TheJackieo2006

    No it was Paramount Studios.

What a way to end the show with the great James Brown singing "Say It Loud, I'm Black & I'm Proud".

  • @blachubear Thanks for the correct studio name. That was a great ending. I loved Arsenio's show

  • Sad! He knew it was the end. I remember those years like it was yesterday. He should have gone on manymore years. I still don't have a clear understanding of why the show was cancelled.

  • @prmass1 The network wanted to dictate his guests and when he insisted on having him they canceled him

  • I think it would have been harder for him to stay on the air longer, but it was a heck of a run.

  • shame he went off the air
