I've always wondered why the character models were so inconsistant. In the FMV, WOL looks like something Amano would design, and yet in the game, he looks like a generic RPG warrior.
I love these games. I am actually writing a novelisation for those who are interested, please just go to my home page to find it. oh and @MalevolenceWolf1 it's a red mage (and that was my favourite character in the first game too)
@vonVince Well, this WAS in 2001/2002. If the technology was available to make CGI this good (which it obviously was), the PS1 could display it, and not because it was like super high-tech. It's not like it had to process these graphics in real-time. Pre-rendered for the win. It's not much more than a video playback as far as I know, so it's not that impressive. Not to me, at least. You could probably even display this on the Sega Saturn, peraps with lower framerate.
@SiGhast You may be right, but at least it's stable. Therein lies the danger with ps one games. Push em hard enough and they won't run stable for very long. Whereas theoretically the PS One was capable of better graphics and real time rendering, sustained stress from these aspects would cause an inevitable crash for players like me who know how to turn it on, but don't know how to turn it off.
The PS One lacked error correction. Second-gen consoles like the ps2 and xbox brought that to fame.
@dragonstormx if you mean Final Fantasy II, do not die because this is when they are in the forest, not in the city, the intro shows the time that escape, but I'm glad you do not see the time when they get caught
I have the dawn of souls version this and the II FMV are the movies i was disappionted to miss on it. I did want all the originals in a portable format.

I'm kinda wondering why they made a new model of 'Warrior of Light' for Dissidia... Why not use this one?
I mean they don't really look-a-like... Or is it just me?
KadajNoBaka 1 year ago
@KadajNoBaka They used Amano artworks for Dissidia, remade new by Nomura.

@Claire87Cla This isn't Amano artwork?

I think they said this was the most detailed FMV cutscene at the time. Only Playstation could do that, thats why I support them.

This opening doesn't actually die with the game very well.
