I understand that he is headed over to Europe later this month. However, there's nothing posted on his site re: dates or locations. Just saw him last night at Momo's here in Austin. He's had two mishaps this past year. One auto wreck which banged him up pretty well, and he also fell off a ladder putting up Christmas lights a few weeks ago, damaging his ribs. He is "The Indestructable" Jon Dee Graham. Hope that you get to see him. I'm lucky enough to live here in Austin, and it is always a treat.
Saw Jon Dee last night at Gruene Hall ... an awesome performance at the Wrigley Field of Texas dance halls. Nobody who claims to love what has come to be known as "Americana" music should go very long without seeing him, live.
I'm pretty sure that this is the preview for the documentary that is coming out about Jon. I saw him perform last night and asked him when the documentary would be available to the public. He said that it's going to be shown at SXSW and then it will be available. I highly recommend the live soundtrack. It's awesome. I just got it last night and I've heard it several times already. None of his CDs captures the magic of his live performance like this one. It's great.
Pure roots rock magic. "Finkelpearl" -- whoever you are -- thank you for sharing these moments of sheer shimmering genius with the world. Sweet licks galore, and whoever edited this video is some kind of youtube impressario.

In '87, I played drums on a True Believers album, produced by Jeff Glicksman. Unfortunately, it was not released. Love those guys! El Blancito
