I think your timing was good but, to be honest, this sudoku was not that difficult. I was rushing little and I made some mistakes, so it took me about 12 minutes to solve this sudoku on paper, but I have seen many more difficult sudoku than this one!

It is a brain exercise. After the marks are set, you need to use logic in order to eliminate the marks one by one. Without marks, it would be impossible to solve a diabolical game.
It's not impossible to solve without marks. I never use those when doing in paper and pencil (any level) because it's a good working memory exercise. However, you spend a lot more time that way.
The small numbers are called marks and they are used for finding the rest of the numbers when there is more than one choice for an empty square. You don't usually use them in easy games but they are crucial for diabolical games like this one.

I never use marks for any level. I think it wastes time, by memory is much better. Anyway the video was cool, well done.
