i don't wont to see like some big cry baby but...you felt something everytime you lost a character on this show it's a damn shame to see it go...and the last episode kinda sucked and there was now Batman or even a whisper of Bruce Wany but still it was an amazing show
@walf2011 If you watch the season 10 more carefully Chloe talks to Oliver or Clark about Batman and Wonder Woman, I forget which episode but she says, a billionaire with a bunch of gadgets and a wonder woman who'll knock your socks off, they do tease the idea, but you have to remember Batman didn't come till much later in Super Man's' life. That's why he was never in Smallville, Bruce was still training across seas to become Batman.
i don't buy the part of the series where lionel becomes good, he was made good out of necesity for the series, but he's originally the real cold mean business guy. Also bringing back julian is messed up. And yes back to season 3 it was rox, after season 5 it honestly became shit.
In a show where too much is often said and too much is often done, this scene said and did more in 3 minutes of silence than 4 seasons of this declining show. This was art.
Lex didn't do anything wrong, he killed a man who was worst than the devil in his opinion, he uses his money to (uncover) the truth!!! isn't that what our government does??? he want's to protect the earth against an alien invasion!!! we as the viewers have had an insight into C.K's life and what he truly desires, however Lex feels he is a Hero, (he loves warrior angel), he himself plans to bring balance at whatever the cause, Superman has lots of villains, however Lex is not one of them.
The funeral scene is symbolic in that it is the final nail in the coffin for both Lex's chance at redemption and the possibility of repairing his friendship with Clark. I think that Clark truly feels that he has failed both Lionel and Lex in every shape and form. Lex is alive, first and foremost, because of Clark; time and again he's had to bail him out of messes he'd caused. With Lionel in the grave goes the "brother" he once saw in Lex, in spite of everything. The battle has begun.
@Shikhs16 Of course, neither Chloe nor Clarke are really in the know about what Lionel Luther put his son through. We know that he was a violent, abusive bully, both to his son and his wife, that he drove his wife to murder and suicide, and that he brutalised Lex emotionally and physically the entire time he was growing up. You can see the crippling effect this had on Lex even as an adult... when his father beats him he's paralysed. It's not lack of love, it's heartbreak.

I will miss lionel luthor and he was a great character. He protected clarks sceret. He helped clark a lot and I did like clarks and lionels relationship. lionel was a farther figure to clark.
I love how they used the same song from Jonathan's funeral. Clark is essentially grieving for two people, the death of Lionel and Lex. Any possibility of Lex being saved is now gone.
they dont use the same song in the proper episode, someone has edited the clip to the peter gabriel music- but it was a good idea i have to admit. PS- who thinks the word clark says is "dad"? i do
don't care how much people try to change or even say that their choice of music is better than the original music used for this clip. This is ok but it's not it. I like the original still without a name though!
I don't quite know what it is called but I believe it is kind of having a hand in burying them (sending them to their rest). Each person at the graveside is supposed to sprinkle dirt on the casket as Clark does. With reverance. In religious context, it may even have some significance such as from dust we came and to dust we return. But call it what you like. "Dusting the casket". Whatever.
I was so mad at Clark and Chloe in the "Veritas" episode because they refused to believe Lionel! I mean, couldn't they tell by the desperate look on his face that he was telling the truth? I cried like a baby after he died.
Well how can they if there really mad when he made Clark that CELL and they stop trusting him,i was crying to cuz Lionel was cool you know? but clark cant trust him anymore cuz what Lionel had done.
I was so angry with Clark because he could have given Lionel like, 2 minutes to explain, but he was so goddamn stubborn and proud. I normally love Clark, but I hated him after he stopped trusting Lionel.
Yeah i know i love Lionel but you cant blame Clark Lionel piss off Clark n he thought Lionel killed that girl becuase Lionel did kill the others n Clark cant trust him anymore.
This song is called (i grieve) by Peter Gabriel...The Words are.... It was only one hour ago.. It was all so different then.. There is nothing yet has really sunk in.. Looks like it always did.. This flesh and bone It's just the way that you would tied in Now there's no-one home I grieve for you You leave me 'so hard to move on Still loving what's gone They say life carries on Carries on and on and on and on
DAMN! It really looks like Smallville is desperatly limping back to what it used to be back in the good ol days of Season 3, with scenes and episodes like this. This scene is so epic and powerful. I wouldn't be surprised is Milles Millers snuck in just to pen the script for this episode, it feels so much like Season 3. I wish every episode of Smallville could be this good.
@marinabreda Naw, see the person who made this used the same song as the one from Johnathan's funeral, but the real music in this scene is a Soundtrack by Louis Febre..
"Clark, when my father dies...Kings will come to his funeral. But when your father dies, his friends will come" ---Lex
