This is really good! Great sound quality and vibrato, though there is some strain in vibrato in high places, not without reason, though, but you may want to check it out.
I love this song, the emotion... well I'm from Argentina... can I speak to you in spanish?
@Irockthebach You mean that he sounds good, not that the violin sounds good. The instrument doesn't make a sound by itself, you know. Even a strad is completely useless in the hands of a beginner.
If you give heifetz a 50 dollar violin (if you somehow manage to find one..), it will still produce a terrible sound. If you give a beginner a strad/del gesu and then give them the 50 dollar violin, they will still sound better on the strad/del gesu.
So yes, the instrument DOES affect the quality of the sound.. that's not going into things like acoustics/reverb.
You don't play loud enough. Its a gypsy piece. You play it like someone would play Mozart. Another thing, in the g arrpegio, why do you go to the E string? It is a whole lot easier to shift up to third and work your way from there.
Good job Stepan! It's a good effort! However, your pizzicatos need to be louder. =) And I think you should use more bow at the end bits. Can't wait for an improved version! Keep up the good work!

Excellent job, you play this better than Perlman, or any of the other "virtuoso" violinist players on youtube. Good emotion...

You are entitled to your own opinion. You should prove it, so it's not so worthless.

It's clean . I love your technic, it's so amazing for your age .
But it's too strict . You could play with more elegance and more move your right arm .

hasn't he been a 12 year old prodigy for the past 2 years?

No, when I saw him a year ago he was an 11 year old prodigy :-)
But time is relative ;-)

i heard him, 5 years ago, almost playing... the 9th paganini capricce, and he was 8... so, i guess now (2009) he's 13?

WOW :O
this is an extreme difficult piece and you played it very well :-)
I heared it before from A.S. Mutter and R.B. Pine and like there versions, it's nice to hear your version which is very different from there ones :-)
your piziccato at the end could be a bit louder, but maybe it's just because of the recording...
btw, very very good for a 12yo ;-)
GREAT JOB !!!
