You don't consider it a "snipe" although it fits into the categories for a technical snipe. It:

a) was made from a long distance (necessary)

b) was made from a hidden position (necessary)

c) involved a weapon primarily or secondarily used for sniping (although this is not necessary)

Well explain to me this - the 2nd place record holder for longest confirmed sniper kill was given to a man using an M2 Browning Machine Gun, which as you can guess, is full auto. Chris Hathcock killed a VC from 2.3 kilometers away with a machine gun and it counted as a sniper kill.
