Ah, there's something missing between parts 2 and 3 - a commercial and also something about a car stopping on a dime. Unfortunately, the dime was in Mr. Rococo's pocket.
This wasn't warping but transforming, Considering how many people listened to Firesign, that episode of life wasn't acknowledged as profound, Considering what "the shrub" did to us in Iraq, Afghanistan and here w/ the (lol) Patriot Act.", w/ dick Cheney as Rocky Rococo; "@ your Cervix". Two Punkass Fags who wouldn't fight for their country when their time came. "The Great Prince issues commands, founds states, vests families with thieves. Inferior people should not be employed". How profound,
I saw these guys perform in St Louis over 30 years ago. They used a lot of props w/ their routines. The segment, " Pastor Flash is coming down " had one of them standing on a chair, hunched over, arms outstretched, w/ a toy inflatable passenger jet, strapped around his back. What was really cool, was that the audience new all the lines by heart, so it was total audience participation. The whole place was going nuts. PS Someone PLEASE post " Bozos ."
My father has this on reel-to-reel along with a ton of old Dr. Demento stuff. The tape always ran out right after FDR says "my fellow Americans". Nice to finally hear the end of it.
That wasn't "the end of it"; the crew have a few instants of silence, then break out laughing because the tape was still rolling. Great to hear it without having to dust off the album!
A few famous lines, great stuff, reminds me of my days in college. I am looking for some clips from Giant Rat of Sumatra, specifically the bar room scene down at the docks. While Giant Rat is often disregarded in the Firesign Theater's works, that bar room scene is something you can glean a new bit of background conversations from every time you listen, and they are all outrageous. Thanks for the post.
If you guys like this as much as I do you might like Burns and Schreiber, The Faith Healer. Another classic skit.

This is a trip down memory lane. It's been 40 years since I listened to this, and I still remember half the lines.
Thanks for posting. I'm going to send this link to my grown kids, so they can see how their parents got so warped. ;-)

This is amazing, but can we please have The Tale of The Giant Rat in Sumatra? That's always been my favorite Firesign Program!
