Hi Mat, There are so many variable's depending on the make and model of the welder you have. Go on line and down load the manual of your welder and it should tell you what current you draw at it's max heat. I would also suggest you get advice from where you bought it. In my search, the store I got it from had a resident expert to help.
The equivalent of Princess Auto Stores in the US is Harbor Freight. They are almost identical.

This looks cool. I only have 115v. Do you have one you could recommend? I can't find this welder make in New York state.
