  • Where is the video maker from ? He obviously isn't French and speaks a clumsy English

  • thank you really appreciate it .............

  • Hi, I'm Brazilian living in the US and I speak english, Portuguese and Spanish. Inane taken French classes in high school for 4 consecutive years. I don't have anyone to practice with so it's been 4 years that I haven't studied it. My pronunciation is great and so is my writhing and reading. The only problem I have is that I can't have a conversation. I can't put sentences together. Probably because I never had anyone to practice with. Is there anything you can do to help me? To remember everyt

  • Hey, i'm a spanish spoken person, english is my second language, now i'm getting in french learning. I think your work is very useful for me, because you are linking my 3 favorites languages and i'm able to realize how similar are them. Thanks keep going.

  • i think this is going to help me pass my french test. THANK YOU!

  • I know that the "s" in ils ont is pronounced like a "hard z" but I was wondering how the "s" is pronounced in "ils" when you say "ils l'ont fait"

    Merci d'avance.

  • No, the "s" is not pronounced when you say "ils l'ont fait". As a general, the S in ILS/ELLES is pronounced only when it is followed by a vowel or a mute h (h muet). It can be a hard "z" sound or a soft "sss" sound based on the following vowel. Hope this helps,

    Herman

  • why he pronounces "sur un arbre" as "su set abr" or something like that (I can clearly hear a T) and not as "sur on abr"?

  • coz his african, africans change a bit of french accents there

  • oooohh!! español... inglés y francés!!!

    c'est magnifique!

  • U really did avery good job! Merci beaucop!

  • Hi! nice too watch this video, thank you for your effort in doing such a work! keep going this way! Cheers, Leonardo

  • Also in Spanish there's a duality regarding the verb to be, which means "ser" and "estar". The former is used as a descriptive, the latter as a transitive. So you could say: "soy Francés" (I'm French) o "soy rubio" (I'm blonde"), as you state it to be a permanent condition. On the other hand, you say "estoy enfermo" ("I'm sick") or "estoy en América" ("I'm in America") implying you could cease being or change your condition

  • Hi, I'm Brazilian and I'd like to know if the pronoum "je" and the form os using avoir "j'ai" have the same pronounciation..

    do they?

(thx for spendin your time with it!)

  • hola¡¡¡ je suis très heureux de apprendre français. ces leçons sont beaucoup de bonnes pour moi.

  • "ces leçons sont très bien pour moi" ;)

  • Digosantista, " Vous avez Française " is not correct : " avez = verbe avoir ( to have ) " The correct phrase is, " Vous etes Française ?? " singular féminin or " Vous etes Françaises " plurial féminin. Compris ??

  • (i'm sorry for my bad english, i'm french)

    hello :)

Both possibility exist, but they don't mean the same thing.

"Vous êtes Française" mean "You are French"

    and

"Vous avez Français" (can exist only with the singular masculine) mean to take a course of french

I hope I didn't too much mistakes of vocabulary -_-' it's hard lol

    Byye

  • SACRÉ BLEU!!!

    idk

    lol

    couldn't resist saying it

  • I have a software that say

Avez-vous un stylo means have you got a pen?

can u just make it vous avez un stylo? instead of avez-vous un stylo because it translates to me have you a pen?

  • of course, you can do it.

  • I have a question. In a video i saw a dialog and the man asked to te woman "Vous avez française?" (i don'to know if the sppeling is all correct, but... the correct form shouldn't be "Vous êtes française?" ?

By the way, congratulations for the classes and thaks to do that for us!

  • Oui, "Vous êtes française?" will be correct.

    Merci,

    Herman

  • Ok, thank you very much for reply to me, and for all you lessons. "Je suis content".

    Best regards!

  • @FrenchTastic1 so "ils/elles ONT" (they have) and "ils/elles SONT" (they are) when used with the "liaison" is actually the same thing?... is that right?... because they are then both said exactly the same way.. please correct if im wrong here. Or would you not need to use the liaison on "ils/elles ONT?".. so it would sound like "ilont" or "elont"?

Many thanks.. and great work mon ami.

  • @nido76 Bonjour Nido. "ils ont" is not pronounced the same as "ils sont". The first one is pronounced ILZON (hard z)while the 2nd one is pronounced ILSSON (soft s)

If you apply the same rule to "elles ont" vs "elles sont" you should be able to pronounce them correctly too. Hope this helps. (and if you're having too much difficulty, check the verbs on my site. I posted online all the conjugated forms of these 2 verbs) frenchtasticpeople [dot] com - Merci
