@ProjectBffffe You'll have to buy it at a Halloween store. It really depends on what you buy. My large 16 oz. bottle was $17, but they have smaller, less expensive containers of liquid latex as well.

I was putting some spirit gum onto my domino mask and face for the first time and it woudn't stick for some apparent reason. I was wondering if liquid latex is a better alternative for putting it on?

If i were to use liquid latex, would you recommend me putting toilet paper with the liquid on my face and then applying the mask or should i put the latex onto the mask and then apply it onto the face?

@Ranma1224 With Spirit Gum, you should let it sit until it becomes tacky. You can lightly dab it with your finger to know that it's tacky then try to apply it to your face. I would try doing that before going out and buying liquid latex. Just make sure you have Spirit Gum remover!

If you do decide to use liquid latex and a mask, you aren't going to need any toilet paper at all. As for where to apply the liquid latex, you can probably do it either way. Just make sure to hold it while it dries.

I noticed that you have the big bottle of liquid latex. How long will it last in the bottle before it dries out? Have you had any issues with that? I'm contemplating whether to buy the bigger bottle but don't think I'll be able to use it all. Don't want it to go to waste.

@FightingForSanity I had half of a bottle left over from last year that I finished this year. It stores pretty well, the only thing is that it tends to dry up around the opening of the bottle, so you just have to remove the clump and it'll pour out. Just make sure the lid is closed all the way.

@samthedragonslayer Sometimes if you let it dry a bit then go over it with more liquid latex, it'll smooth out (or at least camouflage). But if you still can't get it to smooth out, you don't have to use the tissue. You may just have to do a few more layers of liquid latex to compensate. The liquid latex alone will tear the same way.

@123kaelee123 I did. I normally get all of my makeup from Halloween stores. I haven't seen the flesh stack this year though. But I do know that Spirit stores (if they have those where you live) have injury stacks.

@NeonPandao3o I'm sorry it didn't work! What exactly went wrong with the liquid latex? Did it just run down your face? Maybe you applied too much at one time. You could use foundation (or another cream makeup similar to your skin tone) instead of the flesh stack, and red and black cream makeup instead of the injury stack.

@NeonPandao3o I'm not sure how you applied it, but it might not run as much if you lightly dab it on with a sponge. And you don't have to use tissue paper, you can just layer more liquid latex then rip that. I use Spirit brand liquid latex, so nothing fancy.

@LordXFactor The tissues help give the latex its shape and it makes it easier to tear when the latex isn't completely dry (otherwise the latex just stretches). You can probably do it without them, but I think it's faster to use the tissues instead of layering the latex a bunch of times.
