Did your 720 BE unlock (the fourth core)? The reason I ask is because I just picked up this card for real cheap and I was thinking of pairing it with either an X3 720, X4 840, or X4 945. The X3 720 is the least expensive of the three. I have an ASUS board with the Core Unlicker feature and had success unlocking an Athlon II X3 440 to a stable quad-core (CPU-Z rated it as a Phenom II X4 B40 once it unlocked); but it doesn't have an L3 cache like a true Phenom does. Thanks ub advance!
Really? wow 200fps...that's amazing...well considering you've overclocked the crap out of the HD4890, i'm not surprised. So you've maxed out all the settings? What res are you running?
I'm getting 65-67fps as a absolute minimum when there's a lot of action on screen. 70-90fps otherwise.
Er...actually 200fps I think it's the level. that beach landing mission is a pretty large level with lots happening. On the next level, (the sniper mission) it routinely maxes out at 200fps...probably would go higher, if i set the max frame rate limiter higher.
But I'm giving a realistic worst case fps. 200fps or not, it's really a moot point if the lcd screen only displays 60fps.
Yeah...i thought it might be a bit low...I don't know whether fraps was running properly actually... i couldn't figure out the settings....oh i think I know what I did wrong...i was trying to record it at 60fps at full resolution at the same time using fraps...that's probably why it dipped so low. i'll try again with just the fps meter with no recording.
Ultimately though...I couldn't be happier with my setup...all games maxed out...everything smooth...I don't need a number to validate that.
I'd get an HD4890 myself if my PSU wasnt so full of bs.lol, missing both 6pin (an extra that is) and 8pin, and a new mobo & proc, my 9750 cant even oc 50mhz.

Your fps is weird, my 8800gt runs it at ~91 and dips to 55 ish and this all on 1680 (1920 native)

I downloaded fraps and ran the same video test... i was getting a consistent fps of 45-50fps.
Never felt less than smooth video.
