@tjfarmer9380 I think it would bite good we have talked about looking in to a LGP dozer for the swampy areas but knowing there will be times it won’t pull the plow.
The D6 has never run out of power it all about weight and traction even putting in 6in main is tough when you get deeper then 42in each inch deeper after that seems like adding 6inches of depth it drags hard. Thanks built the tile reel in are shop a lot of time and welding I can see now why they cost so much to buy.
how easy could the d6 pull the tile plow? when running real deep did he have any problems pulling it? it sounds like he is playing with it in the video, are you in easy pulling black dirt? im looking for a dozer to pull a soil max zd tile plow, and thought it would take a d7 or 8 to pull it in 90% of all conditions.....any insight appreciated
@tjfarmer9380 The D6 pulls the plow easy 90% of the time even in hard clays never any trouble putting in laterals but mains can get tough 46in and deeper especially when you have to turn wish we had a D8 then. When we upgrade it will be to a D8 I would say we could pull it 98% of the time with a D8.
why not wait till harvest is over?

@TheJamesloy It was a big water way job and finally got the time and the weather to do it, only knocked down about 4 acres of the total 90

What does tile plowing do?
15Woodsmen 3 months ago
@15Woodsmen It installs field tile which helps with water drainage above and below the soil.

do you feel diff steer is a must or just nice. i dont plant on tiling in circles, but i want to be able to tile up waterways

@tjfarmer9380 Diff steer is a must. Makes turning much easier

do you think a lgp machine would bite or "skate on top" in ripped ground, after running yours? d7h lgp weighs 59k but it has a large footprint

when you cant pull it, is it still traction limited or is it starting to work on the 175hp?
im looking at a d7h lgp and reg. it should weigh about 10-15k more. d8 weighs 83k and gets hard to move around here
i like your tile reel. when talk mains, you putting in 8 and 10"?
