  • @MrIHorbert LOL!!! me too!!

  • @MrIHorbert lol yep

  • @MrIHorbert Your parents had or have very good taste. This show was based on the 1960's novel and motion picture of the same name and was about what a police unit in a fictional Georgia small town deals with in terms of law & order. It premiered on NBC-TV on March 6, 1988.

  • I used to watch this show when I was about 6yo to close to 9 and I'd watch it religiously and I'd sing the theme song and whenever I'd sing it I'd just feel real powerful.

And Howard Rollins, if I'm not mistaken, committed suicide. What a bummer. He was awesome as Sidney Poitier's movie character. And isn't that Archie Bunker? Wow, talk about a 180.

  • @BecuzISaidSoGoddamit according to wikipedia he died of lymphoma. but i'm sure all the drugs he was doing didn't help!

  • I'm 16 years old and this is my favorite show.

  • @SwitchbladeKitty that is so cool. I Loved Carroll O'Connor on "All in the Family" (my all-time favorite show) and never watched this show because I didn't want to ruin my impression of 'Archie Bunker'...but I am more interested in seeing this show. Everbody commenting seems to LOVE this program...I am curious now.

  • @seawyatt

Oh, yeah he was a real son of a gun in AITF! On the contrary, he's almost like a big teddy bear in ITHOTN. It just goes to show how well-rounded of an actor he is. :)

  • its on daily in NJ ch.31 WGN 11am-12:30 pm

  • @ollerotrot1

And I tape it everyday. :)

  • The Law and Order of the '80s. I remember me and my Great Grandma watching this show together every night.

  • @63Mafia

Thats a great memory! Me and my ma, when I was younger, would do the same. Although she was more of a 'Touched by an Angel' kind of lady. lol

  • 37 year old black man from Toledo Ohio that grew up in Monroe Michigan!!!!!!!!! Mr. Tibbs, Lonnie, Parker, Chief Gillespie, and Bubba Skinner were some bad ass dudes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Will someone please posted the series?

  • We still watch it weekly here in my area..Thanks to WGN of chicago for keeping it on...

  • Hahaha WGN!!! Every morning at 8 PT/11 ET!!!

  • All the new cop shows on TV these days pale in comparison to "In The Heat". The Closer, Law and Order (with all its spin-offs included), CSI, you name it -- NONE compares! In most TV shows these days, men are shown as either buffoons or dumber than any woman. Give me the 80s shows and some of the early 90s shows any day. O'Connor was "the bomb" as Gillespie. Rod Steiger's portrayal of Gillespie in the '67 movie doesn't hold a candle to O'Connor's.

  • This song is the bomb

  • This came on 2day...sadely i missed the intro :(

  • IN THE HEEEEEEEEEEE O' THA NIYYGGGHT!!

  • @Trill104 My thoughts exactly!!!!

  • It would be nice if This Tv would air this show. This is 1 of the 3 shows Carroll O'Connor will always be remember by. All in the Family & Archie Bunker's Place are the other 2.

  • This Tv is 50% own by MGM if your curious.

  • for some reason i would always only watch the intro but not any of the episodes lol

  • that opening song went so damn hard! LMAO

  • you can catch it on wgn at like what...10 cst

  • This Was The Show... Lol

  • I still watch this every morning.

  • i used to watch this show with my grandparents sometimes. i still remember the opening

  • Comment removed

  • where does it still come on at night at? it comes on here during the midday time

  • this song is da bomb!! its gold and diamonds!!!

  • Gold..........

  • I missed the opening to every episode of season 1 (exercising outside), so I can't say for sure.

  • great tv show theme song

too bad they dont make them as good as they did back in the 80's and 90's
