Maybe next time try getting the whole stock on your shoulder instead of half of it sticking up above your back. FYI. Shouldering a rifle can be done in any fashion as to stabilize sighting and provide comfortable head position. The entire butt stock is rarely used.

The whole Barstow area is great. We traversed off trail for the prime location. During the offroad adventure, we located the abandoned bike and other targets of opportunity. If we did not spend so much on ammo, and gas, we could have purchased lil' bikes for a whole neighborhood of kids. Guess its just our hobbies that keep us smiling.
i hear ya , gas is on its way down but it will go back up soon. ammo is and has been ridiculous for a while now even .22LR has gone up. .223 is over priced and it makes me sad to think those of us who target shoot,compete and plink are about to resort to slingshots
we had two types of ammo, cheap low powered stuff that required a twist of the top adjustment to allow a full cycle of the bolt. Some of my rapid fire with this ammo, caused me to hesitate, but the SIG fired 99.9% of the ammo we loaded that day.

clean the gas valves might help. If it stucks to the gas piston you'll know it.
