I am with Power Brake Service, we do performance brake upgrades and we need to get ahold of any of the Typhoon, Syclone, turbo GM trucks of that era to do a video of. Turbos rob vacuum from the brake booster and we retrofit hydraulic brakes to solve that. Check out my page to see what we did with a Turbo Buick and a T-bird SC, we've done the Turbo GM trucks before, but want to do a video to show clients how to install it, please let me know of somebody in the community in Southern California.
you are wright the ty is ruined it is now just a awd Ls s10. you did not make it better you mad it worse it would be better to save the ty and just build an s10. why kill a ty how could you. nonononononononononono dont kill one of the only reall muscle trucks ever built the horrer of it.
nice build truck looks nice. good job. spare a ty and build a s10 next time i will gladly trade you a s10 to build for the ty to save it.
Ron... I love Vengeance products... had a couple of your cams for my GTO. But... man... it's not special anymore. It's just a AWD truck with a LSx. Granted, it's what the customer wanted, but couldn't you just have told him it's cheap just to mod the engine in it? It's a wasted truck now.
Very nice Ron, I calle you awhile back and talked to you about this build. RR was supposed to build my 4.3, its a long story but to say the least I lost my $6,000.00 and he won't give me my 4.3 back. A couple of friends of mine just put a ls6 in it. It is still AWD and I should have some video's of it soon.
sounds mean! and the LS motor is DEFINATELY easier to wrench on. no comparison. the turbo v6 was strong, but sucks if you have to try fixing it. ever change plugs in on? youll cuzz your head off before you are done lol. great truck man!
If it's still AWD then I think it wasn't a bad idea. The turbo v6 was a beast, but they are kinda touchy to work on. If it was just rear drive than that was an absolute waste
This is an excellent build! It's practical, runs on pump gas, makes 400+HP, emissions legal, doesn't overheat, and has brutal accelleration!
As for the Syclone being a $30,000 truck. It would have to be one with no miles on it, or one that has been modified past the point of being an emissions legal, true daily driver.
Too bad there aren't more details of the build available.
the truck was in the latest gm tech magazine, and the funny thing is that the ower said the V6 was hard 2 work on, but the old fart made it harder by putting in that ls2 motor.
the LSX motor are way easier to work on, if you have evr worked on one, try changing the spark plugs in a stock syclone, bitches are inside of the manifolds, these just sit on top of the motor
I have a 91 Syclone and the 4.3 is a royal pain in the ass. Its very expensive to work on the no one knows how to work on it. This is what I'm considering in the near future. Its much cheaper per HP cool truck
Agreed. I had a heavily modded Syclone that I bought from out of state, and no one knew how to work on it. This is one nice setup; not ruining the truck at all. Some guys keep the turbo but make it Rear-Wheel Drive. To me, THAT is ruining a Syclone. But the truck in the vid is awesome.
just get a sonoma gt its rwd thats what i have it just isnt turboed and yea the awd is so much nicer its way to lighht i fish tail on every launch and mine is just pussin 2oo hp@MikeDunn
nice ass syclone but why the hell take the 4.3 turbo out of it? its not even a syclone anymore.. its like taking the 3.8 turbo out of a grand national..
You can hit 10's with the normal 4.3L engine and turbo. Code 59 ftw!

Still AWD drives... Just hit some high 10s with it two weeks ago in the summer heat here in Georgia. Owner is considering spraying it into the 9s..
Hardcore Sy/Ty guys might think this truck is "ruined" but its a VERY cool build and its what the customer wanted :)
RonatVengeance 3 years ago
Do that to a regular s/10 thats just a waste of a sweet truck right there.
davewhite787 3 years ago
@RonatVengeance
but why a syclone? why not just do it to a regular s10?

is it as fast as it was? do you still have awd? sounds mean as shit.

still nice as fk tho
