The fact is the squad is short a centre forward, so even if we did sell Carroll and bring in Bent (or whoever), it would still leave us light up top. Plus as good a goalscorer as Bent is, i'm not sure he's the answer. I think he's a little like FT in that you have to make him the main man to get the best out of him + i'm always sceptical of players who move around so much- it makes you question their loyalty

The thing is, if not for a world class save from Hart Andy Carroll comes off the bench late and wins the game- so maybe it's not such a bad thing and ww've jsut been unlucky.

I do think the substitution could have been made earlier. Poor Carroll seemed to be in such great form without enough time to really get the result. If he was a 70 minute sub I think he could have won the game. Can't blame Kenny for wanting to hold the substitution, in the end. And I guess what really kept Carroll from scoring was the in-form Joe Hart. What a monster at the end of that game.

Downing was a disappointment. I think he's either overawed by the Anfield crowd that it's making him play nervously or he really is a stinker of a player. Hendo is still a young lad and I thought he had a good game. I think Lucas is better than Masc and his commitment and attitude to LFC is outstanding.. a definite future captain!

Suarez goal famine is becoming a concern. Hopefully he'll score in the next two games.. I'd put him on late as a sub on Tuesday and start Fulhams match at the weekend

I think LFC could use Higuian. Yes he will cost 20+ but hes a proven goal scorer who can play the forward role just in front of suarez. He will have the skill to link up well with Suarez. Hes had some problems with Real so he could go in january for the right price. LFC have shown they are willing to pay big money on potential stars its time to spend some on a proven star. With him LFC would be a feared attacking team.

Higuain and Benzema always rotate, i remember it was benzema who struggled to get a place but due to higuains injurys has now got into the team.. the only problems higuain has, is he is not as quick as he was about 2 years ago (still quick tho)

Enrique's passing was terrible for most of the match and he made lot of sloppy passes but he came back to life in last 10 minutes, defensively he was solid and rarely any of the City attack came through his flank. Lucas, Agger, Skrtel were top performers and i don't think Carragher will come back in starting 11, if Agger & Skrtel play like this. Work rate and desire of Liverpool players was excellent but lack of quality in certain positions was evident. Why doesn't Kenny makes changes sooner?
