  • SSL E-Channel, great channel strip.

  • Amazing instrument, you can "craft" unique patches totally different today than

u did yesterday and is no like other synthesizers push #10 and everybody have same sound like you, is extreme customizable, powerful, have the fat and the clear crystal quality sound, 50 pounds of pure analog music gear. It is a classic synth. Im a proud first hand owner of one.

  • Is there any way to save a sound that you manipulated to use in the future with the same exact fx?

  • @altenArmin maybe i sound like a noob and shit, but why not, cuz i have genelec's to and the back of it is also at the wall.....!!!??

  • @altenArmin why is that bad?

  • Best GCom67,

At time 1:34 Íll be glad know what sequencer you use ,,,

Ill make my new homestudio and must decide what system to use.

    That look cool.

    All the best

    Dan

  • what is best? andromeda or virus Ti ?? for electro techno .....i have see demo of the ti and andromeda and i think virus ti best for my style..

  • @FrenchClub1 well,,,to build a house you need different tools and pieces. The same with music,,,,You can´t just have a Virus. Try a Nordlead 3, Andromeda, Virus, Prophet, Moog, and alot plugins,,,or just what you have, then mix freeeeely.

  • ps anyone who would rather have a virtual analogue or softsynths either have not used this, do not know how to program or have a cheap monitoring environment.

  • well i paid £2000 for this and received it 2 days ago, i have xiosynth, blofeld, virus ti2 polar, nord wave, poly evolver, prophet 08, moog voyager and a juno 60 + before the hardware synths i used Ni komplete, east west stuff, arturia plugins (all the hardware synths above completly trash these softsynths - i sold the lot) and i don't care what anyone says this synth is sheer beauty. My nord Wave/blofeld and xiosynth are now redundant. Moog and jupiter 8 do what they do great......

  • @cprostudio but this andromeda does everything else, it sounds absoloutly fantastic. i could not live with out this now. If my house went on fire, this is the one synth i would risk my life for. The presets do not do it justice, if you can program (which isnt hard; i learned in a week with no previous knowledge - just experimented with the poly evolver and a few youtube vids) You would not rate compare this synth to a jupiter 8 (too different beasts). This synth can be used on everything

  • i can get one of these for £2000, do you think this is a good deal

  • I do not get it, this synth does the same as any synth from the last 15 at least. Technology hasn't change that much. You can get a Korg Karma or even a Wavestation that does the same at a fraction of the price. For the price of the Andromeda I can get several other synth with more to offer.

  • @vjrei Absolutely right. Not only that, the A6 has a lot of bugs. I had one 5 years ago, suddenly problems with the voices, portamento, etc. appeared. Sent it to Alesis for repair, and they broke it even more, no kidding. The A6 has a "smile" type of eq curve, boomy on the bass with no midrange. Sound is not clear (it is not "discrete"). Sold the A6 and got a Jupiter 8 instead (luckily). The JP-8 absolutely destroys the A6 to the ground. No questions about it.

  • @drkam6 Personally I would rather buy an Alesis Micron and use the software plugin that controls it, it works like a VST plug in while sending real time midi data to the Micron. The you can save the patches into the Micron itself. It has the same engine as the Andromeda. I do not know, I have had so many synths in my life that I am just looking into simplify everything. Probably a Micron and a Virus Ti rack or snow.

  • @vjrei There is no "engine" in the Andromeda, it has 16 analog oscillators and analog filters. If you prefer the Micron to the A6, ask yourself why one of them cost 6x the other one when they were still being manufactured.

  • i seen ryan leslie using one of them

  • the second part towards the end sounds like a theremin, i enjoyed this bc of that =]

  • My only complaint is the tempo adjustment is decimal!!! and so sensitive almost impossible to set a specific number like 120 bpm by hand, i use another external instrument by midi for set the tempo.

  • My only complaint is that they should replace the PC card slot for an SD one.

  • hi! amazing sound, amazing tune...wow...i think i must get this dream machine...

    thanx for sharing, man !

    all the best!

    olli

  • its really expensive

  • can you PLEASE make a track out of that tune starting at 1:12? very beautiful!

  • nice spaghetti western ;D

A6 is indeed an outstanding synth...at times reminiscent of OB-X, memorymoog, mks-80, prophet5 and Matrix/Xpander, but it really it's own fizzy/sparkle-y sound.

The VCOs and EGs are outstanding, in particular.

I find new apps for it all the time - it's got HUGE sound-range; just ridiculously flexible!

  • During testing one in Cologne I really went into heavy problems - nearly was about starting to weep in the shop etc. Now I think I'll sell anything exept my Cubase ond solely use an A6 for everything. Oh man - this machine is heavily underated !

  • *sigh* reminds me of the days of the commodore 64.

  • The A6 kick ass, real analog engine and digital control, masterpiece.

  • it sounds very good!

the first Patch sounds like one song form the first album from Yanni

  • lol sounds like styx :)

  • just ordered one as well, the audio on this vid sure did help with that decision. great work! i agree the theremin part is f-ing beautiful...

  • Many thanks :D

I'm sure you will love it when it arrives ;)

  • That is a resonable price for a true Analog like this then. I have saw a coupel pretty low on ebay.

  • Need very good speakers for hold on Andromeda, and far neighbors lol.

  • Youve changed yr tune- 103959..etc.

Fan of the Andro now ?

  • that part with that theremin sound, it's really divine. I decided to buy this analogue monster :)

  • people keep using the word Analog in association with this synth. isnt it a Virtual ANalog synth, like a virus or nord?

  • Andromeda is completely analog - no emulation! It features two analog filters per voice that sound great! They are a multimode 2-pole and a 4-pole lowpass. External audio can be routed through these filters too (three 1/4" jacks)! As for modulation, Andromeda has three LFOs, each with six waveforms and they can be synced to MIDI clock. And there are three 7-stage envelopes with very creative and flexible functions.

  • I absolutely HAVE to have one.

  • Your demo inspired me to get one. It's en-route as we speak.

Can't wait. Any sysex patches for it that you know of?

  • Why would ppl put a thumbs down for this comment. CraigDirty didnt know is all. I rekon GCom gave a good response. :)

Im thinkin bout getting the Monomachine, I can play Kboard but not much of a live player. I prefer messing with paramiters on the fly.

  • Wow the theremin is awesome me i got a TI and havent even scratched the surface of the capabilities of that i might save for 3 yrs and get an andromeda next :0)

  • access virus TI doesn't hold a candlelight to the mighty andromeda....virus TI sounds like a damn VSTi while the andromeda is real analog, real intense!

  • Like a Vsti no that was to overreact. But i agree Andromeda is lightyears better

  • Why does my A6 go out of tune after 2 hrs? I'm told I need a new voice board, that true? If so, where can you get one?

    Thanks!

  • fucking amazing

i cant watch this video because i know i cant afford it

  • Armin Van Buuren uses the same exact one!

  • wow, this this sounds great. I can't wait to get my hands on one! that section at the end with the theromin sound is fantastic.

  • I likes. I wants. Nice video!

  • Heheheh it sounds like the new sound at the start. that's the first time anything Mighty Boosh related has made me laugh in a while.

  • i have to know what program is making the whistling sound at 1:11

  • I used patch 'PRESET 2 086 Choir2PadWhMorph' with a little portamento & ENV2 to make it a little brighter.

  • sounds beautiful, i know its a great synth but to be honest i don't understand the attraction to pad programming which seems to be the andromeda's main niche?

  • It makes the best pads ever

    and... a lot more...

  • It's not really because it is its niche per se, but that it is just really easy to make them on the A6. The discontinuity of the oscillators as they heat and cool really makes those sort of sounds come alive. the A6 also really excels at some f*cking monster bass. You don't hear it too much but it can do it WELL. A lot of people programming the A6 really overlook both offset parameters for the filter and filter keytracking. It is really important for getting the A6 down into bass territory.

  • Ableton I bet

  • The DAWS is Sonar7 PE

  • wonderful stuff again !

  • what's the name of the program that shows up at 1:22

  • Pretty sure that's Cakewalk Sonar

  • looks like sonar 4 or 5

  • With your setup, the possibilities are ENDLESS.

  • Man I want one

    great demo

  • same,i have had my a6 for 4 years, and the only probs i have is the knobs occasionally jumping or random setting flicking ,that sucks when your giging, but i wouldnt trade my a6 for anything, she likes a warm up and needs an autotune every now and then, love the andromeda its the best.

  • I've owned one for 4 years now...knobs are somewhat jumpy, but the 8 miniknobs are a perfect workaround. Immensely silly noises are easy to coax out of it.

  • Using one. It's fukin amazing. Best synth i've ever played.

  • GREAT!

  • You really made this demonstration very touching, like it's the last of the Analogs which it is. I kinda got a feeling when the music starts around 1.10 that Andromeda is looking out over a big deserted place and there are old synths laying dead all over the place. And you kinda grasp that sad feeling when that music starts, that you really feel for this baby. You zoom in on it like wanting people to know how special this thing is for you.

    Great demo!

  • Thankyou for your kind words. The Andy is a monster and looks and sounds fantastic, some say it's prob the most powerfull analog synth ever made :) best analog poly synth I have ever owned that's for sure.

  • Its not the last of the analogs thank god. Alesis are still building them and DSI Prophet '08 etc are starting to make their mark. Hopefully the VA blip can be put to rest.

  • From what I've heard, Andromeda sounds 10 phatter than DCO driven Prophet 08.

  • It's not so much the fatness that VCO gives it that extra something, but more warmth and character makes a huge difference in unison mode there's is no drifting with DCO and it will sound to clean this is very noticable with the P08 and what let me down it does not have that killer anolog sound, plus the Andromeda is just capable of so much more, lush, grainy, fat, ethreal it does it all well.

  • The po8 and A6 are both excellent synths and have very different analog strengths.

  • yeah, its true

  • bloggers say the a6 is hype

but when I here the a6 it sounds like no other,

    great sound!

  • wonderful stuff again !

  • Love it thank you! I can't wait to get one... someday.
