  • On this specific flight I was a passenger and informed the flight attendant I'm a flight engineer by profession and thought they should have done a better preflight inspection. This leak wasn't within limits The attitude of the pilot?, the flight attendant was actually more professional and did an excellent job.By the way now I teach English for Specific Purposes ie Aviation and petroleum industry related vocabulary. Our job was made obsolete by computer. My father was the chief engineer Sabena.

  • Flying Sabena in the 60's , 70, and the difference was like night and day. The personel in the 60's were hard working , friendly , 70's personnel were unfriendly and thought they knew it all. I'm a flight engineer and on one flight i told the stewardess to inform the pilot that there was lots of oil leaking out of #2 , she went to the Captain and he just said to her ,tell him to relax and enjoy the flight, that is not a reply, should have been thank you and we will look into it when we land.

  • Well I used to be a flight attendant and we were very friendly and professional to the pax. You don't have to judge every flight attendant. BTW as a flight engineer it is your duty to inform the captain about the oil leaking.
