At 40% health, Phase 3 begins, and she returns to the ground. During this time, your strategy should basically be the same as the first phase - tank her against the wall, Melee DPS on the sides, ranged and healers further away on the sides. She hits harder and the cracks in the ground start bursting lava which does cause damage, so make sure nobody stands in the cracks.

Overall the fight requires more coordination, but it's definitely possible with a pug in 25-man and 10-man. Good luck :]

During Phase 2, however, she will cast a particularly nasty spell called "Deep Breath". The casting of this spell is marked by a raid warning that says, "Onyxia takes a deep breath...". When this happens, EVERYONE (Tank, DPS, Healer) must find where she is and get to her sides QUICKLY. From wherever she is, she flies in a straight line from one end of the room to another, spraying the ground below with fire. If you're in its path, you're dead.

Onyxia is easy. Your raid just has to know how the fight goes, especially in Phase 2. In Phase 1, Melee DPS should ALWAYS tank her from her SIDES, not her back, because she uses tail sweep which has a huge range and huge knockback. 65% health marks Phase 2, and she flies up in the air. Melee can no longer attack her, but ranged can, so most of your ranged DPS should be focused on her. Melee DPS should take down the elites and whelps that periodically spawn.

I liked the old days (level 60) and still love it. I like that they reinvent thier old content. I hated TBC and well WOTLK just picked it up after a year not playing and kinda like it. BUT the good old days can never be matched.
