Valkyrie1775 Thankfully the aircraft, being on a training mission, was not carrying a full crew. That said, the pilot sustained a nasty"oh, you fool" look from me...
@herrhazi In this case it snapped a u/c leg just above the wheel and took out 6 rotor blades. I´d only just fitted a new fuslelage so i was glad that survived unscathed. I live within a few miles of Tarifa, one of the windiest places in Europe, so neither of us get to fly outdoors very much. It´s pretty much limited to "cowboy" visits to poorly-secured industrial premises at weekends
I offered! He´s actually a better pilot than I am. If someone tries to pass me their heli Tx I usually refuse. If I break a friend´s toy i feel obliged not just to pay for the parts but to source them. I´ve noticed that some people feel obliged to pay but not to source, and some just hand back the Tx with a rueful smile. The last group don´t get offered another go...
@Del350K4 Ouch. Yeah your buddy probably let off the throttle alittle too much there right? I noticed the teeter-totter effect on its way down in slow motion, its what happens to my walkera#38 when im really high up..50ft plus, which gives me enough recovery altitude, so far lucky it did not crash from that height
OUCH!! I always feel like an ass when I tell people "No you cant play with it" but thats why right there. I have a new one now tho. I hand them the radio and then tell them what it cost and say "You break it you bought it" Then they say "Nevermind" and hand it back lol.

@mikeymarmalade Yes, it´s a classic; I´d never heard it called that before but it´s a perfect description

You got the see-saw of death from a too rapid descent. It happened to me too but I landed on grass!
