  • Never made it huh? He made it Shindig! And that was "making it" in the sixties!

  • Poor Tommy was a bit of an alley cat.

  • Tommy....Never made it.,

  • I loved Sandie Shaw when I was in high school. I still have my old 45 (quite worn) of this song.

  • Tommy was sure corney, but that was the way it was. I need some gum!

  • I don't know what youre talking about... it's a classic...

  • Agreed, definitely a classic..this is early on in her career.

  • Who is the male singer at the begining?

  • Tommy Quickly

  • ty nyrainbow for posting these great videos

  • SANDY SHAW LOOKS CRAZY COOL!

  • @dominique777 Classic Anglo/Saxon/Celt

  • I still own a Sandie Shaw LP from the 1960s that is completely sealed never opened. If anyone is interested let me know. She was a great singer.

  • Yeah maybe... talk to me

  • Outstanding video post. Thank you myrainbow. A lost treasure.

  • Sabdie was a bwautiful girl and a great singer..but she never caught on here in the states.

  • The reason Sandie Shaw had limited success here was that she and her singer/songwriter partner Chris Andrews were both denied visas due to all the other British performers coming here; they just couldn't promote their records. Sandie Shaw's "Girl Don't Come", a brilliant record that reached NO. 3 in England, only got to No. 47 here. Chris Andrews also had a No. 3 UK hit with a fantastic record called "Yesterday Man" that only got to No. 94 in the US.

  • A shame... Sandie had a number of really beautiful records in the UK that almost certainly would've charted better here, given proper promotion.

  • Beech-Nut Gum was one of "SHINDIG!" regular sponsors, 'PublioIII'- they helped "pay" for the show when it first aired on ABC in October 1964. The commercials are quite facinating, and I'm pleased most of them were retained in these kinescope film recording of the series...ABC never saved ANY of the original videotapes.
