Hurricane Flossie : Vacationland Kapoho Pahoa Hawaii

Notice in the first picture the huge streaks of white in the sky. This moisture pushed high into the jet stream and turned into ice crystals. It is one of two defenses that keep most of Hawaii free from hurricanes. The other defense is to turn moisture into snow. Only Kauai is hurricane prone or susceptible. Hawaii Island residents get to enjoy the snow the hurricanes bring.
