  • i am my seventh sperm in my dads testes and I already like this !

  • Could someone tell me what opus is this valse?

  • I'm sorry, I must be missing something. I'm probably one of the greatest Heifetz fans of all time. But this is scratchy, raw toned, a bit sloppy. I realize that this is an old Heifetz, and he does do many beautiful things. But this is a shadow of Heifetz in his prime. Can't anyone here admit that

  • @jyrossi no.

  • Lovely. TY aimson for posting.

  • God.... why does it sound so lifeless when I play it in comparison D:

waltz 3/4 rhythm is so complicated ><

  • @RussianDiva same here, and so very true :-(

  • @RussianDiva not the rhythm, the grace notes are what gets me *sigh*

  • This version is as close to perfect as this piece could be.

  • from what suite ??

  • @JamesraynorII serenade for strings

  • This feeling, relaxed but sad, can only be brought by Tchaikovsky.

And in this world, we have only one Tchaikovsky, that's why he is irreplaceable.

  • me parece que suena sublime!!!! pero creo que debrian poner que vals es, pues TCHAIKOVSKY tiene muchos

  • Amazing. At times i hear another violinist and muse - maybe another Heifetz? Then I listen to the real Heifetz and quickly return to reality.

Thank you so much for posting this tremendous performance.

    John

  • @65attila -Yes John. Sometimes reality sucks huh.It would not if I could play like that-or at all. lol

  • we all got to love heifetz

  • To ( VIOLATIONE ) Everyone always compares this one and that one to Heifetz!

Why, because he set the bar ,and that bar is still only eye level to todays best!!

  • I'm playing this piece for my Grade 5 and I sound terrible compared to him. He's like the GOD of all violinists!!!

  • Best that ever lived!!!

  • @stuballs42 He redefined virtuosity but there are better violinists living now.

  • pretty!!!

  • oh what fun!

  • Listened to this in a variety of guises over the years. It's beautiful in full orchestra. However, there's somthing a bit raw about this that is compelling. Shit, it's grouse. Love it!

    !!

  • Is there any mention of the ensemble Heifetz is performing with?

A real curiosity and bon bon. Much fun, with the superlative violinist of our time enjoying himself.

  • is this Serenade C-dur op.48 ?

i want to buy cd with this track but i don't know what is name of cd with this. could you tell me what cd buy?

  • WOW....

  • Wow I got a little teary-eyed when he played my favorite part of the song which is the ending (3:21-4:00). It was done soo passionately!

I did the same thing he did from 3:21-3:28 playing the viola, 2nd violin, and first violin scale thingy when I first heard this song so it also brought back some good memories.

  • It's funny you mention that 7-sec part because it is simply a scale. However, he does sing it so beautifully that you forget scales are for warming up fingers and punishing beginner violinists with.

  • @aimson "scales are for warming up fingers and punishing beginner violinists with" love that!

  • this is an amazing song!!!i play violin but i could never be nearly as great as this!!! it is wonderful!!

  • You obviously don't know what you're talking about and I feel offended that such ignorance would be posted on my channel. You can't even write or spell correctly. If you happen to feel like posting even a semi-intelligent comment validating your argument I'll be happy to endorse your disagreement with this recording. If not, I'm removing this post for "quality assurance" in a week. Thanks.

  • Hi aimson, thank you for your videos on maestro Heifetz, loved them very much. BTW can you upload the Brahms concerto on Heifetz if you can, will be much appreciated!!!:)

  • Huh irouryou really?!!!

Because to me your spelling and grammar skills is rather rudimentary to me!!!

If you think you are so good why won't post a video about yourself?!!

Heifetz is a true man of character and acts as a second grandfather to me. Without him i am nothing.

  • Your English fluency doesn't not seem much better than his.

Additionally, you probably forgot the fact that he's Japanese and not a native English speaker, unlike you.

He is only posting his opinion on the video, and your retort about his language abilities seem rather childish to me.

But I'm getting carried away, and almost forgot you are 16.

  • parece otro waltz,el violin suena como paganini.

  • my reaction: pshwhaaaw

    awe-struck

  • Sensacional, fabulosa y magnífica interpretación, sólo el, es capaz de tocar de una manera tan briosa y sublime a la vez. Gracias aimson por permitirnos esta obra.

  • Bravo! Magnífica interpretação!

  • Brillante, bravo.

    Soberbia interpretación.

    ---

Thanks for post it, he plays like angels.

  • This is one of the last if not the very last recording sessions he had with RCA. Interestingly the first time he recorded it was one of the first sessions he had with RCA.

  • I gotta say...the waltz loses something in this transcription. It's still pretty good, but I'm starting to see why Tchaikovsky didn't write this for violin solo and orchestra.

  • Any particular reason?

  • Hilarious sentiment, then what do you find beautiful and emotional? I'm a bit curious...

  • I don't think is because he has no taste, just that tastes are usually different from one person to another. In this case, maybe HaxIRL doesn't like the "older era" feel or sound of this recording.

Though it is a great performance by one of the greatest violinist of all times, not everybody will like it.

  • like me u.u i mean, he's such a great violinist and all, but we all have different tastes and i personally didn't like this one..

but still, i can't believe this is the only video of this waltz in youtube u.u

  • great!!! this waltz is so special

  • Me parece una interpretación extraordinaria y maravillosa. Sería interesante escuchar la breve obra de Tchaikovsky (recuerdos de un lugar querido)contenidas en un mismo Opus.

  • he plays his stradivarius violin here. you can hear it doesnt suit him, he was always a Guanerius man.

  • How do you know he's playing the strad here?

  • Do you perhaps have any recordings of the Tchaikovsky Valse Sherzo?

  • Well, I am slightly confused at your question. I have the Tchaikovsky Valse (Waltz), which is this clip. I also have Tchaikovsky Sherzo on my CD. However, I don't know what the Valse+Sherzo is. You want me to post the Sherzo for you?

  • For the Valse Scherzo, the only recordings I know of are on the Oistrakh Showpieces album and the Kogan Interpretations Video. I am just looking for other takes on the piece. Also, yes, please post the scherzo.

  • Wonderful indeed!
