Wow, this would have made a great Star Trek movie (and a possible pilot for a new television series)! Take STAR TREK: GENERATIONS, retain its first part which involved the USS Enterprise - B, but eliminate the second part in which James T. Kirk is crushed to death under a fallen mass of metal during the TNG era, and replace it with a new second part which contains material like that shown in this video, and re-release it. Now that would be a landmark Star Trek movie (and my kind of Trek film)!
Magnífica propuesta, en concepto es maravilloso y coherente... no soy partidario de la enorme batalla pero si del argumento en general. Inteligente modo para traer de vuelta la tripulación original a una aventura mas.
ok as much as this would be ausom there are a few major flaws (1 the fediration would not fall that easly there is a lot more to the fediration than vulcan and earth(2 this time travel plot would have WAY too many paradoxes that could thereectly destroy the fediration(3 as much as we all want kirk to live again he is dead much like when the samurai class was endid in the moderenization of japan but he like the samurai will be rembered and honored always
canon has became so complicated and large its really hard to figure out new serious stories. so i think they should start a complete new star trek universe to create a new history. another idea is to tell stories from the viewpoint of the aliens, or show events we have heard of, but never seen. like the romulan or klingon wars.
Amazing scene, when Spock enters the Nexus, right before Kirk saw him, and he looks at him, where original Picard takes his first look on Captain Kirk... fantastic...
Humanity has reached a new zenith of nerdery. That guy who legally changed his name to James T. Kirk pales in comparison to the time and effort you must have put into this. Good job though, very entertaining.
A fantastic video , and in many ways , is a Star Trek team up i would love to see , but lets face reality and admit it , it wont really be ever made , oh well ! .
I think bringing back Kirk takes away from the reality of Star Trek. Spock died and was brought back....but he is not human afterall, but onc eyou make a human immortal you stretch reality a lot. Especially since he's a 70 year old man, who if you bought back would die pretty soon anyway.
Well how many of these characters died on screen before? Scotty was killed by NOMAD after all. McCoy apparently killed on the "Shore Leave" planet
Other famous character "Deaths" in fiction that were rescinded include Sherlock Holmes... I don't think anyone is saying make Kirk immortal but as a fictional character he is one whose story should remain open and if he MUST die then it should be in a more meaningful fashion than in Generations.
Powertube, I started watching Trek on 8Sep66. In case you didn't know, that was the very first ep. aired. It was the "Man Trap".And I did understand this video. But, I'll lose my card for this, I wan't the "Enterprise" back. Jim Kirk is not Star Trek. The "Enterprise" is. She is our future. =Stefan=
Millions now living will see Trek enter public domain. Through efforts like these a vision of the return of Shatner's Kirk is most likely. Minute by minute, technology will reach the point where BBK can be realized, and our family can be reunited, even if they have be replicated through CGI, other voice actors or unimagined technology. Three cheers for the tireless efforts of the people at BBK. The possibilities are indeed endless.
I will not say the new Trek reboot due at Christmas of 2008 will not work....it is inevitable that the characters we love will be played again and again by different performers. How many actors have played Tarzan, Superman, Sherlock Holmes, the Frankenstein's Monster, Dracula, and so many more?
You have a point; however, the characters you mentioned were in existence long before films/ shows depicted them. People already knew who they were long before such an adaptation. With Star Trek, the characters became icons with the actors who played them, and how the actors played the character IS the actual character.
You have a point; however, the characters you mentioned were in existence long before films/ shows depicted them. People already knew who they were long before such an adaptation. With Star Trek, the characters became icons with the actors who played them, and how the actors played the character IS the actual character. The mannerisms of Kirk, Bones, Spock and all the rest is the actual bearing of the characters themselves.
If someone else attempts to put their "own twist" on a particular classic Star Trek character, I believe it will fail. Imagine if someone else other than Arnold Schwarzenegger played the Terminator in a reboot, or if someone else played John McClain in a prequel other than Bruce Willis. It's not a pretty picture...
This is shockingly poignant, imaginative, beautiful, and certainly more viable than either ST: Insurrection or ST: Nemesis. It also brings into focus a unified field theory of Trek we have all craved.
More than ever, largely due to the efforts of the good people at New Voyages, Hidden Frontier, and Star Trek: Exeter; Star Trek belongs to the fans, as it always truly has since 1969, when we wouldn't let it die.
very well done!!! that must've taken forever to make.
i don't think kirk should be brought back though. his death was noble, and he had a very long run. it would be unrealistic to bring him back, and would make the series look weak.
Kirk is back in the 24 centry alive and well if you ever read the startrek books. infact he is in command of a starship again. along with spock mccoy and scotty and his son
this video is really cool!! i hope they dont restart the star trek films with different actors it takes away from what the original actors did. they need to tell better next gen films
Great editing job on this! It makes me ecstatic just like the original did! I would give anything to see this happen for real! Did someone on this page say Matt Damon was playing Kirk in the next Star Trek movie? (ugh...)
Why on earth has no one ever thought about making a movie like this? Bill Shatner wrote a Star Trek triology in which Kirk was resurrected by the Romulans.
Of course, you would never get Leonard Nimoy to agree to this being made. He refused to have anything to with Generations and DeForrest Kelley died 6 years ago, so unless CGI can resurrect the dead, he would be out of the film as well. Still I found the whole thing very entertaining...perhaps an idea for a Star Trek PC game.
Not bad.... but can we please... PLEASE eliminate (At least) seasons 1-3 of Enterprise as Canon. None of that had a darn thing to do with anything roddenberry established. And... the ships were way too advanced. Romulans did not have birds of prey then.. and there was never mention of an enterprise spaceship beyond the circular one pictured aboard the Enterprise in ST The motion picture.
lol...I know...but this idea is GRRREAT!!!.....not that all the characters would still be alive in picards generation of the enterprise-E but Spock being in his generation could work out...he really could visit the Nexus and bring kirk outa their or at lest throw his dead body into the nexus andgo retrive it form another time period in it....and all generatins of enterprise can coemand live happily ever after :D
Brilliant movie. stunning. A few bits and pieces were a little off but nothing too distracting from the feel of it. Very impressive- although I got to say, Shatner is getting on a bit now (don't hit me- I love kirk too!) So... I dunno. Personally I want to see another star trek on anything.
Well, if they replaced some of the actual "state-of-the-crap" writers with a few of those imaginative Star Trek fans out there, maybe we'd have an actual plot for the next Star Trek movie instead of some silly prequel with Matt Damon as Kirk or so.
