They probably died of amonia and nitrite poisoning due to overcrowding and when you added meds it made the water more toxic .Goldfish require 20 gallons per fish and amazing filtration.It def wasnt a parasite.
Those are real.. I try not to use fake plants in my tanks as they do accumulate algae at times.. Unfortunately that tank had an outbreak of some sort of parasite that no meds would kill. All except one Goldie died. I had to bleach the tank( what the owner of a lfs told me) now I have beautiful African cichlids in there and haven't lost one.
so what did u do with that 1 goldfish did u keep it, and where did u buy those plants from and they last for long and not pick up alot of algae

Awesome tank. Love the colors. Try feed them color enhancers they'll look even better
